Ozzy Osbourne<\/strong> was close friends with many rock musicians\u2014his star-studded July 5 farewell show, Back to the Beginning, was proof of that\u2014but there was one fellow British rocker whom he liked to poke fun at, and he did it right up until the end.<\/p>\n In the Paramount+ posthumous documentary about Osbourne, Ozzy: No Escape From Now<\/a>, the Black Sabbath singer took a final swipe at Sting <\/strong>while talking about his life as a rock star.<\/p>\n \u201cI can\u2019t complain, I was actively rocking until I was 70,\u201d Osbourne said in the documentary, per The celebrity.land<\/a>. He then added, \u201cHey, it could be worse. I could have been Sting.\u201d<\/p>\n It was far from the first time Osbourne, who died on July 22 at age 76, took a jab at Sting. The Police frontman’s polished style was in stark contrast to Osbourne\u2019s heavy metal madman persona.<\/p>\n In the \u201cDinner With Ozzy\u201d episode<\/a> of Osbourne\u2019s 2002 MTV reality show, he talked about the things in his life he was \u201cnot proud of,\u201d including his poor education and past drug and alcohol abuse.<\/p>\n “I’m not proud about biting the head off a bat. I’m not proud of a lot of things, but I’m a real guy, you know, with real feelings,” Osbourne said. \u201cAnd I suppose that that kind of scares me sometimes, to be Ozzy Osbourne. But it could be worse. I could be Sting.\u201d<\/p>\n So what was the beef between Osbourne and Sting?<\/p>\n In a 2000 interview with <\/a>Rolling Stone<\/a>, Osbourne\u2019s wife, Sharon, provided some insight. After calling the \u201cRoxanne\u201d singer \u201cLord Sting,\u201d she explained, \u201cWe call him Lord Sting because he\u2019s licking a– big time to try to get knighted. Such a f–ing a—licker. I mean, he\u2019s hugely talented. But he\u2019s such a prat. And he\u2019s taken big-time digs at Ozzy in the press.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cHe said that he was so glad that the first Western artist to be seen in Vietnam was him, because what would have happened if they\u2019d seen Ozzy Osbourne first?\u201d she claimed.<\/p>\n Sharon, who served as her husband\u2019s manager, added that she and Ozzy ran into Sting at a cocktail party thrown by Elton John<\/strong>, but they stayed away. \u201cThere\u2019s Sting and his wife looking at us like, \u2018Please don\u2019t talk to us.\u2019 I was looking at them like, \u2018Don\u2019t f—\u00ading worry, I ain\u2019t coming near you,\u2019\u201d she recalled.<\/p>\n Osbourne and Sting seemingly made amends a few years later.
