Jason Isaacs<\/strong> has reached a major milestone in his sobriety journey<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cTwenty-seven years ago today the sun rose on the first 24 hours I\u2019d had clean or drugs or alcohol in my entire adult life,\u201d the White Lotus <\/i>star, 62, wrote via Instagram<\/a> on Sunday, October 5. \u201cI didn\u2019t wake up that way because I didn\u2019t wake up. I hadn\u2019t gone to bed to keep away from temptation and to avoid tearing up my floorboards (again) or searching every item of clothing (again) \u2014 both surprisingly fruitful over the previous days.\u201d<\/p>\n

He added, \u201cI had no idea how long it would last, but that morning, as I emerged blinging, pink and massively over-cooled, I felt something I hadn\u2019t felt for decades. Hope. I\u2019d got through one night. Who knew what was possible?\u201d<\/p>\n

Isaacs explained that he\u2019s since navigated his sobriety \u201cone step at a time\u201d and \u201cone day at a time.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s now 27 years,\u201d he added, going on to detail his intention for sharing his story. \u201cI\u2019m writing to see that it\u2019s possible if you ask for help. You don\u2019t have to do it the way I did, but however far gone you think you are, however irreversible you think your situation is<\/a>, there\u2019s always a way back. A way forward [and] a way back to the surface. Always. Just take the first baby step and surrender.\u201d<\/p>\n

Isaacs concluded his social media message with a heartfelt message to \u201ceveryone who helped\u201d him navigate sobriety.<\/p>\n

\u201cThank you to everyone who happened me and continues to help me try and stay sane in an insane world,\u201d he wrote. \u201cIt\u2019s not false modesty or humility to say that I couldn\u2019t have done it without you \u2014 I tried doing it by myself and failed every single time, I\u2019m so grateful to be present in life, even for the awful things, the painful things, the scare things. I ran from them before and now, sometimes, not always, I run at them. I show it.\u201d<\/p>\n

He continued, \u201cGood luck. You can do it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Several of Isaacs\u2019 social media followers and Hollywood stars alike were equally grateful to hear his story and words of encouragement.<\/p>\n
