\n\tTaylor Swift<\/a>\u2019s 12th studio album, The Life of a Showgirl<\/em>, has claimed the top spot in this week\u2019s new music poll<\/a>.<\/p>\n \n\tIn a poll published Friday (Oct. 3) by Billboard<\/a><\/em>, music fans overwhelmingly chose the 35-year-old pop icon\u2019s latest release as their favorite new project of the week.<\/p>\n \n\tThe Life of a Showgirl<\/em> garnered 77% of the vote, outpacing new releases from Luke Combs<\/a> (\u201cDays Like These\u201d), Louis Tomlinson<\/a> (\u201cLemonade\u201d), Leon Thomas<\/a> (\u201cJust How You Are\u201d), Kali Uchis<\/a> featuring Mariah the Scientist<\/a> (\u201cPretty Promises\u201d), and more.<\/p>\n \n\tArriving a year and a half after her chart-dominating The Tortured Poets Department<\/em> \u2014 which spent 17 weeks at No. 1<\/a> on the Billboard 200 \u2014 Swift\u2019s new project marks yet another career-defining moment.<\/p>\n \n\tReleased on Oct. 3, The Life of a Showgirl<\/em> was produced by Swift alongside longtime collaborators Max Martin and Shellback. The 12-track album offers a vivid reflection on her life over the past two years, from circling the globe on the Eras Tour to her high-profile romance with fianc\u00e9 Travis Kelce.<\/p>\n \n\tOn \u201cFather Figure,\u201d Swift interpolates George Michael\u2019s 1987 hit of the same name, while the album\u2019s title track features Sabrina Carpenter, marking their first duet since touring together in 2024.<\/p>\n \n\tThe music video fro lead single \u201cThe Fate of Ophelia\u201d premiered as part of The Official Release Party of a Showgirl<\/em>, a special movie event running in theaters through Oct. 5.
