And my husband is just a sports fanatic\u2013when I need to talk to him, I have to watch! And we were fortunate enough to be able to get season tickets to the\u202fLakers.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What\u2019s your favorite neighborhood?<\/strong><br \/>West Hollywood. So many wonderful places to eat, to shop, to hang out. It\u2019s about the <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/CLmvE3DJZ2m\/\">ginger margarita\u2013the best<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Favorite music store?<\/strong><br \/>My favorite music spot ever was Tower Records. This was when I could go there and put on those headphones and they didn\u2019t bother you. It was beautiful to go through a musical journey there. Then I went to Amoeba and the Record Collector across the street from Fairfax High\u202fSchool.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Favorite independent movie theater?<\/strong><br \/>The New Beverly Cinema. They show amazing films over there\u2013and it\u2019s right over by my children. Steve Harvey hosted these so-called \u201cHoodie Awards\u201d years ago, and it was all the best of the Black businesses in the country. I was presenting the Best Fried Chicken award one year, and CW &amp; Chris won. I didn\u2019t know him, and I said \u201cOh, I\u2019m gonna have to come and check you out,\u201d and he goes, \u201cYeah, you gotta come check me out!\u201d I went the next day, and I have been going there now for at least 25 years. That\u2019s my little quick stop for fish and\u202fchicken.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Frozen yogurt or ice cream?<\/strong><\/p>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/lamag.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/cofffeewalk-yogurttalkpx.jpg\" alt=\"(PHOTO: THEBLOCLA.COM\/RETAILERS\/COFFEEWALK-YOGURTTALK)\"\/><\/figure>\n<p> CoffeeWalk YogurtTalk. Good product, and I enjoy talking to the people.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The best Chinese food?<\/strong><br \/>Yang Chow. They have a slippery shrimp dish that I could have every day.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Hair colorist in\u202ftown?<\/strong><br \/>Sotah Hair Care. Janet Zeitoun\u2019s been doing my hair for over 25 years. (PHOTO: NOEL VASQUEZ\/GC IMAGES)\"\/><\/figure>\n<p><strong>Favorite museum?<\/strong><br \/>I like LACMA and the Museum of African American Art, off of Crenshaw. I love the African American artists. At LACMA, before COVID, they had Charles White, who was one of the artists that my husband\u202fand I love.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What\u2019s your favorite hike?<\/strong><br \/>I get a nice view at Fryman Canyon, and it\u2019s also kind of a tradition; I started doing it close to 40 years ago with some friends of mine\u2013we did it to get out of the gym situation and get the fresh air. There\u2019s a car graveyard there.
