Rodriguez). However, I think at least one more character needs to be aware of who he really is. That\u2019s right, for this show and Russ\u2019s ruse to work, I really think Ricky (Perry Mattfeld) needs to know that he\u2019s not really Chad Powers.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Now, I\u2019ll be the first to admit that Russ going undercover as Chad and tricking the entire team into thinking he\u2019s someone else is a fun concept. Seeing <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.yahoo.com\/entertainment\/movies\/articles\/glen-powell-says-tom-cruise-221505558.html\" data-ylk=\"slk:Powell in a full face of prosthetics;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas;outcm:mb_qualified_link;_E:mb_qualified_link;ct:story;\" class=\"link  yahoo-link\">Powell in a full face of prosthetics<\/a> and using a fairly silly voice is comedy gold. She\u2019s trying to prove herself on the team, she\u2019s trying to step out of the nepo baby shadow her co-workers have put her in, and she\u2019s trying to be a great coach. So, I\u2019m hoping they\u2019ll be able to help each other with them. However, I don\u2019t know if that can meaningfully happen if she doesn\u2019t know he\u2019s actually Russ.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">If she were to find out, she could help create a better cover for Russ while also assisting him in becoming a better player and person overall, which would make them both look great (until everyone else learns who Chad really is). In an interview with <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/tv\/tv-features\/perry-mattfeld-chad-powers-football-career-interview-1236387748\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:THR;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">THR<\/a>, Perry Mattfeld did say that Ricky has to be \u201cone of the guys\u201d as well as \u201ckind of the romantic interest.\u201d So, it seems natural that her relationship with Chad will at least grow into a meaningful friendship if not an eventual romance.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">For this to actually work, though, I do think Ricky needs to know that he\u2019s not really Chad Powers.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Stick with me here, as someone who watches <em>Matlock<\/em>, and is constantly <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.yahoo.com\/entertainment\/matlock-really-weird-reboot-think-135424405.html\" data-ylk=\"slk:worried about the titular character's secret;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas;outcm:mb_qualified_link;_E:mb_qualified_link;ct:story;\" class=\"link  yahoo-link\">worried about the titular character&#8217;s secret<\/a> identity and how it will impact her relationships with her co-workers, <em>Chad Powers<\/em> is stressing me out for the same reason. I\u2019m so concerned about both titular characters building up relationships only to have them come crashing down later on when the truth is revealed.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">I realize that\u2019s part of the fun of the premise. However, it\u2019s actually tragic to me to see various relationships I love being destroyed over a major secret. So, if Ricky and Chad\/Russ are going to have any kind of genuine relationship, whether it be romantic or otherwise, I need it to be built on honesty, which means she needs to know his secret.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">I think it\u2019s extremely important that Ricky finds out that Chad is actually Russ.
