[Warning: The below contains MAJOR spoilers for\u00a0The Crow Girl<\/a><\/em> Season 1 Episode 5 \u201cShe Shoots for the King.\u201d]<\/strong><\/p>\n There\u2019s only one way to describe the revelations in this episode (now streaming on Acorn TV), and Jeanette (Eve Myles<\/a>) puts it best: \u201cF**k.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cThat wasn\u2019t in the script. So, like Jeanette, I\u2019m a very instinctive actor, and sometimes you\u2019ve just got to kind of say it as it is, and as long as it\u2019s within that character\u2019s realm, it can either be used or it doesn\u2019t get used,\u201d Myles tells TV Insider of that moment.<\/p>\n It comes after the DCI has learned that her partner, Lou (Dougray Scott<\/a>), has engaged in an inappropriate sexual relationship with a victim, Ursula. As Ursula shares, Lou only got her to like and trust him because he was police, she was the victim, and he told her he was trying to solve the crime and protect her from anything else happening. She has realized now she needs protecting from him and \u2014 not knowing he\u2019s her partner and best friend \u2014 trusts Jeanette to help her. Then, their fellow officer, Mike (Elliot Edusah), tells her that he thinks Lou is involved in an underground fighting ring involving refugee boys.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s the swan effect where she\u2019s gliding, everybody can see her on the surface absolutely in control, absolutely got the energy, pacing through it beautifully, but underneath kicking like hell for dear life in all directions. That\u2019s that moment. And it\u2019s not for Jeanette,\u201d Myles explains.<\/p>\n \u201cSomebody\u2019s coming in and saying somebody in the office is having a sexual relationship with a victim, and also there\u2019s a possibility that he\u2019s got involvement with these refugee boys. If it had been anybody else, it would be, \u2018I\u2019m dealing with it now. I want \u2019em here now,’\u201d she continues. \u201cBut because it\u2019s her best friend, because it\u2019s her brother, there\u2019s a moral dilemma that she\u2019s going through there. And it was delicious to play, actually, because it was really, really difficult. And it should feel that she\u2019s torn, that she doesn\u2019t know what to do. What\u2019s right to do is kind of what she did. But I think that\u2019s going to hurt Jeanette more than it hurt Lou more than it hurts anybody from here on in. That\u2019s something that woman\u2019s going to live with.\u201d<\/p>\n
