Maggie Q stars as Det. Ren\u00e9e Ballard, a character originally featured in the novels of Michael Connelly, \u201cwhere she began on the night shift at the Hollywood station before transitioning to the department\u2019s Cold Case Unit, where she continues to fight to earn respect in the ranks,\u201d per the official series description.<\/p>\n \u201cWe\u2019re so grateful to have the chance to continue Ballard\u2019s story.
