One month after the social media star\u2014who amassed an internet following after appearances on Catfish: Trolls<\/em> and Divorce Court<\/em>\u2014died at age 28<\/a>, his family confirmed to The Washington Post<\/a><\/em> that he passed away due to natural causes.<\/p>\n

Ray\u2019s death was reported Sept. 3, two days shy of his 29th birthday, a spokesperson for Maryland’s Office of the Chief Medical Examiner confirmed to People<\/a><\/em> at the time. His relatives also shared their grief in the wake of his loss.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am sitting in my room with tears rolling down my cheeks,\u201d Ray\u2019s cousin, known as Coolest Kishia<\/strong>, wrote on Facebook<\/a> following his death, adding a series of broken heart emojis. \u201cI am so heart broken. I don\u2019t have words for this right know u are my favorite cousinnnnwhy u dogged me like this.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ray (real name Raymond Harper<\/strong>) was diagnosed with spinal muscular atrophy at 15 months old, leading him to be wheelchair-bound at age 10, according to with The<\/em> Washington Post<\/em>.
