After parting ways with a major label in 2005, The Format self-released \u201cDog Problems\u201d and developed a fiercely devoted cult following.<\/p>\n<partner-banner util-module-path=\"elements\/partner\" fluid=\"\" bottom=\"\" lazy=\"\" class=\"spacer-large\" min-height=\"600\" outstream=\"\" momentum=\"\"\/>\n<p>With the self-release of their new album, Ruess and Means are building on that legacy and proving that same DIY spirit that fueled their early years.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"presto-h2 wp-block-heading\">New album follows The Format&#8217;s sold-out hometown concert<\/h2>\n<p>The Format have been on the road for a series of sold-out full-band performances, including a sold-out hometown concert on Sept. 27 at Veterans Memorial Coliseum, which they curated as a local music festival with an outdoor side stage featuring intimate, stripped-down performances from some of the city\u2019s most exciting rising artists including Sydney Sprague, Astrologer, and JPW &amp; Dad Weed.<\/p>\n<p><a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.azcentral.com\/story\/entertainment\/music\/2025\/09\/28\/the-format-phoenix-arizona-concert-review\/86405010007\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">AZcentral said<\/a> the show \u201cwas everything Arizona had been waiting for and even more. \u2026 From the very first line of &#8216;Tie the Rope,&#8217; it was obvious that both the crowd and band were ready to erupt after the 18-year wait.
