She just was going to give it her all. She worked enormously hard. In this role, you get to see all of her many gifts.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>While promoting the film on the <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=6JWwNwHxPW8\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">&#8220;Today&#8221; show<\/a> earlier in the day, Lopez similarly <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/story\/entertainment\/celebrities\/2025\/10\/06\/jennifer-lopez-ben-affleck-question-today-show\/86552075007\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">offered kind words toward her ex-husband<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;If it wasn&#8217;t for Ben, the movie wouldn&#8217;t have gotten made, and I will always give him that credit,&#8221; Lopez said. Regarding their divorce, she added: &#8220;Things happen; you have to keep going.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The 2000s tabloid fixture formerly known as &#8220;Bennifer&#8221; officially ended in August 2024, when Lopez\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/story\/entertainment\/celebrities\/2024\/08\/20\/jlo-and-ben-affleck-divorce\/73735416007\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">filed for divorce from Affleck<\/a>\u00a0in Los Angeles on the second anniversary of the couple&#8217;s\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/story\/entertainment\/celebrities\/2022\/08\/21\/jennifer-lopez-ben-affleck-host-second-wedding\/7843387001\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Georgia wedding ceremony<\/a>. The two\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/story\/entertainment\/celebrities\/2025\/01\/07\/jennifer-lopez-ben-affleck-divorce-finalized\/77504155007\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">finalized their divorce in January<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Despite their high-profile breakup, Affleck told\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/story\/entertainment\/celebrities\/2025\/03\/25\/ben-affleck-jennifer-lopez-divorce-comments\/82650635007\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">GQ magazine in March<\/a>\u00a0that there was &#8220;no scandal&#8221; behind the divorce.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The truth is, when you talk to somebody, &#8216;Hey, what happened?&#8217; Well, there is no: &#8216;This is what happened.&#8217; It&#8217;s just a story about people trying to figure out their lives and relationships in ways that we all sort of normally do,&#8221; Affleck said at the time.<\/p>\n<p>Lopez plays film star Ingrid Luna in &#8220;Kiss of the Spider Woman,&#8221; an adaptation of the stage musical about prisoners in Argentina.
