Letterkenny production company New Metric Media has made a strategic investment in Good Walk Entertainment, the LA-based production company founded by former Comedy Central executives Kent Alterman and Sarah Babineau.<\/p>\n
The Canadian outfit has invested an undisclosed sum in Good Walk, while the companies have also forged a non-exclusive strategic partnership focused on production, distribution and monetising comedic content across TV, film, digital video and podcasts.<\/p>\n
The partnership also includes joint coproductions, service productions, packaging and financing as well as live events, e-commerce, gaming and product licensing.<\/p>\n
Good Walk and New Metric are currently preparing to take several projects out to North American and global buyers, including a series created by Canadians Steph Tolev (Filth Queen, Tires) and Allison Hogg (Baroness Von Sketch), and others from Norwegian writer\/directors Jon Iver Helgaker and Jonas Torgersen (Norsemen, Captain Fall).<\/p>\n
Good Walk was founded in 2022 and has series and features in development at American studios and streamers including FX, Amazon, Fox, ABC, NBC, BBC Studios, A24, Imagine, Sony and 20th Television.<\/p>\n
Creators and showrunners currently working with Good Walk on comedy and drama projects include Owen Thiele, Brian Gallivan, llana Glazer, Chris Estrada, Bill Posley, Hayley Marie Norman, Babe Motel, Abbi Jacobson, Andrew Rhymer, Laura Valdivia, Kelvin Yu and Samantha Riley.<\/p>\n
New Metric, which is behind Letterkenny and its spin-off Shoresy, is preparing a pair of half-hour comedies, Hate the Player: The Ben Johnson Story (GameTV and Paramount+ in Canada) and I Kill the Bear (Crave\/Bell Media), both set to premiere next year.<\/p>\n
