David Bowie<\/strong>‘s dazzling legacy lives on. Next month, it’ll be in the form of an all-new book.<\/p>\n Acclaimed photographer Frank Ockenfels III<\/strong> worked with the late music icon for decades, according to The Hollywood Reporter<\/a> \u2014 and all roads have led to Collaboration, a volume hitting the shelves Nov. 4 that includes never-before-published shots of Bowie, who died of cancer in 2016.<\/p>\n \u201cThis project was his idea,\u201d Ockenfels, 64, told THR. \u201cHe brought it up to me during one of our final shoots, saying he thought by that point we had enough for a book.\u201d<\/p>\n Ockenfels continued, \u201cDavid was flexible and open. He didn\u2019t come with a look book. He just supported my eye and allowed me to fail, which is what a lot of great art comes out of.\u201d<\/p>\n Check out a sneak-peek portfolio from the photographer’s new book here<\/a>.<\/p>\n Ockenfels has also kept busy of late with other pop-culture projects, THR noted, such as photographing David Corenswet<\/strong> for the Superman (2025) poster and Timoth\u00e9e Chalamet<\/strong> and his A Complete Unknown (2024) co-stars for the Bob Dylan biopic’s marketing campaign.<\/p>\n Last month, Bowie made headlines when his official social media accounts informed the public that the “Ziggy Stardust” singer’s bodyguard, Stuey George<\/strong>, had died<\/a>. George had been working with Mick Ronson<\/strong>\u2019s band The Rats.<\/p>\n Bowie died on Jan. 10, 2016, days after his 69th birthday. In the years since his passing, his legacy has grown, with many recognizing his significant influence on popular music. The character of Ziggy Stardust resonated with rock fans, specifically those outsiders looking for an alternative to the mainstream rock of the day.<\/p>\n Released two days before his death and on his 69th birthday, Bowie\u2019s final album Blackstar was, according to his producer, a “parting gift” to his fans.
