Hopeless Records UK <\/a>label manager Nav Sidhu has announced the launch of a new label venture.<\/p>\n Christened Killabop, the label will \u201cprimarily focus on signing UK alternative-rock artists and developing them across the globe\u201d via an exclusive worldwide distribution deal with Virgin Music Group<\/a>. It says it will specialise in offering artists \u201cflexible deals\u201d.<\/p>\n Over the years, Sidhu has worked on a host of some of the biggest alternative artists, including Avenged Sevenfold<\/a>, All Time Low<\/a> and Neck Deep<\/a>, in turn developing them into gold\/silver certified artists in the UK.<\/p>\n Speaking on how the partnership with VMG came about, Sidhu said: \u201cA chance encounter with Nick Roden<\/a> (president of Europe, VMG) and Bonita McKinney<\/a> (head of business development Europe, VMG) at The Great Escape was the start of a real conversation. It turned out both Nick and Bonita are real fans of the work I\u2019m doing with Hopeless Records in the UK. I was looking for a partner to make Killabop a reality, so it felt like the stars aligned. They work with some great alternative labels and they share my vision of investing in British alternative music, meaning they\u2019re the perfect partners for Killabop.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n In addition to launching Killabop, Sidhu will remain at his current role at Hopeless Records.<\/p>\n
