George Clooney moved away from Hollywood to give his twins a “fair shake” at life.<\/p>\n
The 64-year-old actor is one of the biggest names in the movie industry, but he and his wife Amal moved their family to a farm in France to make sure twins Alexander and Ella, eight, could grow up out of the spotlight.<\/p>\n
He told Esquire magazine: “You know, we live on a farm in France. A good portion of my life growing up was on a farm, and as a kid I hated the whole idea of it.<\/p>\n
“But now, for them, it\u2019s like\u2014they\u2019re not on their iPads, you know? They have dinner with grown-ups and have to take their dishes in. They have a much better life.<\/p>\n
“I was worried about raising our kids in LA, in the culture of Hollywood. I felt like they were never going to get a fair shake at life.”<\/p>\n
The Jay Kelly actor pointed out that the culture in France is very different to the US.<\/p>\n
He added: “France \u2014 they kind of don\u2019t give a s*** about fame.<\/p>\n
“I don\u2019t want them to be walking around worried about paparazzi. I don\u2019t want them being compared to somebody else\u2019s famous kids.\u201d<\/p>\n
George doesn’t use platforms like Instagram and Facebook, and he’s worried about what will happen to his kids when they eventually get their own accounts.<\/p>\n
He recently told Julia Roberts for 72 Magazine: “I don\u2019t know how to do it [use social media].<\/p>\n
“I\u2019m not on any of them, but only because I find that my life is so much simpler without doing it. But I worry about kids. I worry about my kids, obviously …<\/p>\n
“The risks are so much bigger and the consequences follow you for so much longer. I\u2019m worried about my kids; we keep them off the internet as much as we can.<\/p>\n
“But, you know, some of their homework is done on a computer. And they do like to watch a good Snoopy movie and things like that.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
