\n George Clooney<\/a> has been immersed in the glitz and glamour of Hollywood for decades, but he didn\u2019t want the same for his children \u2013 and for good reason.\n <\/p>\n \n The two-time Oscar winner, who lives on a farm in France<\/a> with his wife Amal and 8-year-old twins, Alexander and Ella, shared his joys and concerns regarding his family life in an interview with Esquire<\/a>, published Monday.\n <\/p>\n \n \u201cI was worried about raising our kids in LA, in the culture of Hollywood,\u201d Clooney said.\n <\/p>\n \n \u201cI felt like they were never going to get a fair shake at life. France \u2013 they kind of don\u2019t give a sh*t about fame,\u201d the 64-year-old continued.\n <\/p>\n \n \u201cI don\u2019t want them to be walking around worried about paparazzi. I don\u2019t want them being compared to somebody else\u2019s famous kids,\u201d he added.\n <\/p>\n \n In fact, Clooney doesn\u2019t even want his children to be compared to him.\n <\/p>\n \n \u201cThe only thing I feel lucky about is that I\u2019m so much older that the idea that my son would be compared to me is pretty unlikely, because by the time he actually will have done anything, I\u2019m gonna be gumming my bread,\u201d Clooney said humorously.\n <\/p>\n \n The actor and director\u2019s big onscreen break came in his 30s when he starred as a series regular in the medical drama \u201cER,\u201d portraying Dr. Doug Ross between 1994 and 1999.\n <\/p>\n \n Clooney, who admitted that he did drugs in the 1980s and that it\u2019s \u201chard to not make a mistake that could really \u2013 not ruin your career but certainly stall it,\u201d said that is it likely for the best that he garnered fame later in life.\n <\/p>\n \n \u201cI think probably, again, because I was older, I\u2019d sort of done all my dumb things when nobody knew who I was,\u201d he reflected.\n <\/p>\n \n The movie star, who is a major Democratic donor, is also a recognized name in the world of politics.\n <\/p>\n \n Last year, Clooney penned a New York Times op-ed<\/a> calling for then-US President Joe Biden to bow out of the presidential race. It came after Biden reportedly no longer recognized Clooney<\/a> when he saw him at a June 2024 fundraiser.
