Taylor Swift<\/a> is setting the record straight regarding fans\u2019 assumptions on how her future marriage to Travis Kelce<\/a> might affect her career.<\/p>\n During an Oct. 6 appearance on BBC Radio 2<\/a> with Scott Mills following the release of her 12th album, \u201cThe Life of a Showgirl,\u201d<\/a> Mills asked Swift if she was winding down her career now that she was engaged.<\/p>\n \u201cTaylor, don\u2019t tell me this is your last album,\u201d he posed to Swift. <\/p>\n \u201cWhat? No \u2026\u201d Swift responded, appearing taken aback by his question.<\/p>\n Mills elaborated: \u201cI just saw some fans going, \u2018Well, she\u2019s going to get married and then she\u2019s going to have children and [so this is] going to be the last album.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n Swift didn\u2019t seem too pleased by this speculation. <\/p>\n \u201cA shockingly offensive thing to say,\u201d the \u201cMidnights\u201d singer said with a laugh, adding, \u201cThat\u2019s not why people get married \u2014 so they can quit their job. It\u2019s also, like, music for me.”<\/p>\n Mills noted that fans were likely \u201cjust panicking.\u201d<\/p>\n Swift understood, but reassured that her music career was nowhere near over, just because she and Kelce were getting married. She further capitalized on the fact that Kelce wouldn\u2019t want that for her either.<\/p>\n \u201cI love the person that I am with because he loves what I do, and he loves how much I am fulfilled by making art and making music,\u201d Swift said. \u201cThat\u2019s the coolest thing about Travis. He is so passionate about what he does that me being passionate about what I do \u2026 it <\/i>connects us.\u201d<\/p>\n Swift continued: \u201cThere\u2019s no point in time where he\u2019s going to be like, \u2018I\u2019m really upset that you\u2019re still making the music \u2026 the music thing that I signed up for, that I know you love, I thought you were going to stop doing that \u2026\u2019 We both \u2014 as a living, as a job, as a passion \u2014 perform for three and a half hours in NFL stadiums.\u201d<\/p>\n In addition to fans making assumptions over how marriage might deter her career , this speculation may have also ramped up even more after an Oct. 3 interview with BBC Radio 1<\/a> with Greg James, who asked Swift if she planned to go back on tour anytime soon.<\/p>\n \u201cNo,\u201d Swift said firmly. \u201cI\u2019m gonna be really honest with you. I am so tired,\u201d she said. \u201cLike when I think about doing it again, I\u2019d wanna do it really well again, you know?\u201d<\/p>\n During Swift\u2019s Eras Tour<\/a>, which ended in Dec. 2024, she performed 149 shows across five continents, 21 countries, and 51 cities over the course of 21 months. While she was likely being honest about touring not being feasible right now, some fans may have taken it as a sign that she was dialing back on her career.<\/p>\n However, Swift has consistently expressed her love for being an artist. When she accepted the Album of the Year award at the 2024 Grammys<\/a> for \u201cMidnights,\u201d she doubled down on her passion for making music. <\/p>\n \u201cAll I want to do is keep being able to do this.
