Former child reality star Alana \u201cHoney Boo Boo\u201d Thompson<\/strong> \u2014 once America\u2019s sassiest li\u2019l pageant princess \u2014 was left \u201cbanged up a little bit\u201d and \u201clucky to walk away\u201d after a speeding vehicle plowed into her car on a road near her Colorado home, according to her mom, June Shannon<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Mama June broke the shocking news in an Instagram video<\/a> that showed the reality matriarch standing in an airport terminal, where she said she was on her way to Denver to be by her daughter\u2019s side.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe get a phone call around 3 o\u2019clock and Dralin<\/strong> [Alana\u2019s longtime boyfriend] is pale white,\u201d she announced. \u201cAlana is screaming in the background.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Here Comes Honey Boo Boo<\/em> alum, 20, was driving to a hair appointment when her car was T-boned by a speeding driver, who later admitted he wasn\u2019t \u201cpaying attention.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThey are always speeding on her road,\u201d fumed Mama June. \u201cShe was hit on the driver\u2019s side of her car.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt could\u2019ve been a lot worse!\u201d<\/p>\n

Thompson was reportedly rushed to a hospital with back pain and a pounding headache, but Mama June assured fans her daughter was \u201cbanged up a little bit but other than that she is OK.\u201d<\/p>\n

After a childhood spent in the spotlight from the time she was just 6 years old and basking in the stardom of TLC\u2019s Toddlers & Tiaras<\/em>, Alana has tried to live a quieter life. She is studying to be a neonatal nurse at Regis University in Denver, where she lives with Dralin Carswell, 24.<\/p>\n

Mama June, 46 \u2014 who has had her share of drama, with a series of drug, financial, weight and health issues \u2014 says a 23-year-old man has taken responsibility for the accident and admitted he \u201cwas going 40 miles an hour.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cShe\u2019s lucky to walk away,\u201d says the relieved mom. \u201cIt could have been so much worse!\u201d<\/p>\n

Alana reportedly missed the first day of her nursing program because she is still resting and recovering from the accident.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
