Convicted music mogul Sean \u201cDiddy\u201d Combs looked to the White House for major relief amid his legal saga, President Trump says.<\/p>\n
\u201cI have a lot of people asking for pardons,\u201d Trump said Monday as reporters pressed<\/a> him about whether he will pardon Ghislaine Maxwell,<\/a> the imprisoned former girlfriend of Jeffrey Epstein. Trump went on to name-drop Combs, using one of his former stage names.<\/p>\n \u201cI call him Puff Daddy, he\u2019s asked me for a pardon,\u201d he continued. A representative for Combs did not immediately respond to a request for comment, but reports about a potential pardon for the Bad Boys Records founder and former C\u00eeroc alcohol entrepreneur first surfaced months ago.<\/p>\n Combs, also formerly known as \u201cPuffy,\u201d \u201cP. Diddy\u201d and \u201cLove,\u201d was convicted<\/a> in July in his high-profile federal criminal case, in which he was accused of sexually assaulting numerous women. Jurors found Combs guilty on two prostitution-related charges but cleared him of the most serious: racketeering and sex trafficking.<\/p>\n A month after the verdict, celebrity.land reported<\/a> that Combs\u2019 legal team had reached out to the Trump administration to clear his name. \u201cIt\u2019s my understanding that we\u2019ve reached out and had conversations in reference to a pardon,\u201d attorney Nicole Westmoreland told the outlet at the time. Days later, the celebrity.land<\/a> reported otherwise, with Combs\u2019 lead attorney Marc Agnifilo disputing Westmoreland\u2019s claim. <\/p>\n Earlier this year, Trump also issued pardons for rapper NBA YoungBo<\/a>y<\/a> and \u201cChrisley Knows Best\u201d reality stars Todd and Julie Chrisley<\/a>, among others. <\/p>\n Combs was sentenced<\/a> Friday to more than four years in federal prison for transporting prostitutes across state lines for drug-fueled sex performances he dubbed \u201cfreak-offs.\u201d The rapper\u2019s legal team on Monday requested<\/a> he carry out his sentence at FCI Fort Dix, a low-security federal prison in New Jersey. This will allow Combs \u201cto address drug abuse issues and to maximize family visitation and rehabilitative efforts,\u201d lawyer Teny Geragos wrote.<\/p>\n Meanwhile, as Combs prepares for time behind bars, 50 Cent is making it abundantly clear he\u2019s going to make the most out of his rap foe\u2019s sentence.
