Janelle Mon\u00e1e<\/a> is reveling in the spirit of spooky season.<\/p>\n The 39-year-old actress arrived at the premiere of Guillermo del Toro\u2019s new \u201cFrankenstein\u201d<\/a> film in Los Angeles on Monday night in freakish facial prosthetics<\/a> mimicking a sinister monster. Outside the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures, her eyebrows were set under an immovable embellishment angled down toward the bridge her nose, resulting in a scrunched expression.<\/p>\n More from WWD<\/strong><\/p>\n The heavy prosthetic positioned naked brow bones on a 45-degree angle on her forehead with faux wrinkles cutting across them. Below, she wore only a thin layer of black liquid eyeliner, concealer under her eyes and warm-toned bronzer on her cheeks. Meanwhile, her lips were dressed in brown liner and clear gloss.<\/p>\n A self-certified horror afficiando and AMC\u2019s annual \u201cHalloQueen,\u201d this was far from the first time Mon\u00e1e\u2019s enlivened the fictional unnatural with intricate \u2014 albeit gruesome \u2014 makeup. On a recent Magazine cover, the \u201cHidden Figures\u201d star worked with artists Chelsea Delfino and Sasha Glasser to apply prosthetics by DYAD Pro that transformed her into a Frankenstein lookalike. In a statement sent to WWD, Mon\u00e1e\u2019s stylist Alexandra Mandelkorn confirmed Glasser helped create her ornate visage for the premiere on Monday.<\/p>\n Out Oct. 17, the latest film adaptation of Mary Shelly\u2019s 1818 novel will see Jacob Elordi assume the role of the manufactured monster created by the self-seeking Dr. Frankenstein, played by Oscar Issac. Other actors in the movie include Mia Goth, Christoph Waltz and Charles Dance. The highly anticipated film, which will debut on Netflix on Nov. 7, seemingly broke the internet when it received a 14-minute standing ovation at the Venice Film Festival a few weeks back.<\/p>\n Elsewhere at the Monday night premiere, \u201cEuphoria\u201d star Storm Reid donned fashion label Finesse\u2019s Maltide plum patent leather jacket and matching midi skirt. Moody hues seemed to be the unspoken shades of the night, boasted by the likes of Elordi and Goth, in maroon suiting and inky black sheer respectively.
