According to Hits Daily Double<\/em><\/a>, the fourteen-time Grammy winner’s twelfth album, The Life of a Showgirl<\/em><\/a>, which released on October 3, could earn over 3.5 album equivalent units in sales. That would pass Adele<\/a>‘s 2015 album, 25, <\/em>for the biggest sales week ever.<\/p>\n

According to Billboard<\/em><\/a>, Swift sold 2.7 million copies in just the first day of release, marking her biggest opening ever.<\/p>\n

In streams, Showgirl<\/em> crushed the Spotify and Apple Music charts, including Swift’s new single “The Fate of Ophelia,” breaking the single-day streaming record on Spotify. The recent Swift takeover was also composed of her new film The Official Release Party of a Showgirl<\/em>, which debuted the “Ophelia” music video, behind-the-scenes footage from the visual, lyric visualizers and personal reflections. It dominated the box office this weekend, topping films starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Dwayne Johnson.<\/p>\n

While Swift’s 2024 album, The Tortured Poets Department<\/em><\/a>, debuted atop the Billboard<\/a> 200, it crossed 2.6 million album-equivalent units in its first week, with 1.9 million copies being pure sales.<\/p>\n

Since the release of Showgirl<\/em>, Swift dropped acoustic renditions of select tracks from the album exclusively on her official website.<\/p>\n
