(De Los; Photos by Evan Vucci \/ AP and Eric Jamison \/ AP)<\/span><\/p>\n President Trump is not jazzed about Bad Bunny’s upcoming performance at the Super Bowl \u2014 though he doesn’t even know who the Puerto Rican megastar is, allegedly.<\/p>\n In a Monday interview with Newsmax, Trump was asked by presenter Greg Kelly if he had any thoughts on the recent announcement<\/a> that Bad Bunny, whose real name is Benito Antonio Mart\u00ednez Ocasio, would be the halftime performer at next year\u2019s Super Bowl LX in Santa Clara, Calif.<\/p>\n “The NFL just chose the bad bunny rabbit or whatever his name is. This guy who hates ICE, he doesn’t like you. He accuses everything he doesn’t like on racism,” Kelly told Trump. “Do you think maybe we should just entertain blowing off the NFL, like a boycott or something along those lines?”<\/p>\n Trump replied, “I’ve never heard of him. I don’t know who he is.” He added, “I don\u2019t know why they\u2019re doing it. It\u2019s crazy. And then they blame it on some promoter they hired to pick up entertainment. In an interview last month<\/a>, Bad Bunny said he didn’t plan any continental U.S. dates for his \u201cDeb\u00ed Tirar M\u00e1s Fotos\u201d world tour, citing concerns over ICE enforcement outside his concert venues.<\/p>\n \u201cThere was the issue of \u2014 like f\u2014 ICE could be outside [my concert],\u201d he told i<\/u>-D<\/u><\/a>. \u201cAnd it\u2019s something that we were talking about and very concerned about.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cThere were many reasons why I didn\u2019t show up in the U.S., and none of them were out of hate \u2014 I\u2019ve performed there many times,\u201d he said. \u201cI\u2019ve enjoyed connecting with Latinos who have been living in the U.S. But specifically, for a residency here in Puerto Rico, when we are an unincorporated territory of the U.S. \u2026 People from the U.S. could come here to see the show.\u201d<\/p>\n Kristi Noem, the secretary of Homeland Security, told right-wing podcaster Benny Johnson<\/a> last week that ICE agents would be “all over” the upcoming Super Bowl venue.<\/p>\n Read more:<\/b> Commentary: Bad Bunny will perform Super Bowl LX’s halftime show, likely in Spanish. She went on to say that only “law-abiding Americans who love this country\u201d should plan on attending the big game.<\/p>\n Corey Lewandowski, an advisor to Noem, also made comments to Johnson<\/a> last week about what the ICE situation would look like at the Super Bowl.<\/p>\n \u201cThere is nowhere that you can provide safe haven to people who are in this country illegally,\u201d Lewandowski said. \u201cNot the Super Bowl and nowhere else. We will find you. We will apprehend you. Even Fox News.\u201d<\/p>\n A spliced video then popped up on the screen, stitching together a series of Fox News anchors saying, \u201cBad Bunny is my favorite musician and he should be the next president.\u201d<\/p>\n Bad Bunny then gave remarks about the weight of his momentous halftime show in Spanish.<\/p>\n \u201cEspecially all of the Latinos and Latinas in the world here in the United States who have worked to open doors,\u201d he said. \u201cIt\u2019s more than a win for myself \u2014 it\u2019s a win for all of us. Our footprints and our contribution in this country \u2014 no one will ever be able to take that away or erase it.\u201d<\/p>\n
