Taylor Swift knows you have some thoughts on her latest album<\/a>, and she\u2019s ready for it.<\/p>\n The superstar billionaire singer-songwriter appeared on The Zane Lowe Show<\/a> for Apple Music on Tuesday, where she said she \u201cwelcomes the chaos\u201d when it comes to how fans and listeners feel about her new music \u2013 the good, the bad and the ugly.<\/p>\n \u201cThe rule of show business is, if it\u2019s the first week of my album release and you are saying either my name or my album title, you\u2019re helping,\u201d Swift shared.<\/p>\n Swift\u2019s album \u201cThe Life of a Showgirl\u201d \u2013 which peels back the curtain on her life on tour and in the throes of passionate love<\/a> with her fianc\u00e9 Travis Kelce \u2013 was released last week.<\/p>\n \u201cI have a lot of respect for people\u2019s subjective opinions on art. I\u2019m not the art police,\u201d Swift said. \u201cIt\u2019s, like, everybody is allowed to feel exactly how they want. And what our goal is as entertainers is to be a mirror.\u201d<\/p>\n The 14-time Grammy winner also reflected on how this isn\u2019t the first time she\u2019s heard her fans and followers deliver less-than-glowing takes on one of her albums.<\/p>\n \u201cWhat I often love seeing my fans say is, \u2018I used to be someone who didn\u2019t relate to (her sixth studio album from 2017) \u201cReputation.\u201d And now that I\u2019ve been through some other things in my life, that\u2019s my favorite album,\u2019\u201d Swift said, going on to observe that she has her eye on the long game when it comes to her devoted Swiftie fanbase.<\/p>\n \u201cWe\u2019re doing this thing for keeps,\u201d she said. \u201cI have such an eye on legacy when I\u2019m making my music. I know what I made. I know I adore it, and I know that on the theme of what the Showgirl is \u2013 all of this is part of it.\u201d<\/p>\n Last week, Swift fans around the country and world lined up at music retailers and gathered for listening parties<\/a> to herald the release of \u201cShowgirl,\u201d which has since elicited a mixed response.<\/p>\n Some have called the multiple<\/a>, expensive versions of physical media around the release excessive, while others are taking issue with the brutish way<\/a> she seems to have treated a classic Shakespearian character. And that\u2019s just the beginning<\/a>.<\/p>\n Not to be deterred, the \u201cAnti-hero\u201d singer continues her media blitz of a tour in support of the album on Wednesday, when she will appear as the sole guest on \u201cLate Night with Seth Meyers.\u201d<\/p>\n
