Freida Parton, sister of iconic country legend Dolly Parton, has asked fans for \u201cprayers\u201d as the\u00a0singer continues to face \u201chealth challenges\u201d.<\/p>\n
Freida wrote on social media: \u201cLast night, I was up all night praying for my sister, Dolly. Many of you know she hasn\u2019t been feeling her best lately. I truly believe in the power of prayer, and I have been led to ask all of the world that loves her to be prayer warriors and pray with me.\u201d<\/p>\n
She continued: \u201cShe\u2019s strong, she\u2019s loved, and with all the prayers being lifted for her, I know in my heart she\u2019s going to be just fine. Godspeed, my sissy Dolly. We all love you!\u201d<\/p>\n Freida Parton’s post <\/span> – Facebook <\/span><\/p>\n<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n Last week, Dolly Parton, 79, postponed her Las Vegas residency until September 2026, telling her fans that she\u2019s been facing \u201chealth challenges\u201d.<\/p>\n She was scheduled to perform six shows at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace for \u201cDolly: Live in Las Vegas” between 4 and 13 December.<\/p>\n The \u20189 to 5\u2019\u00a0singer did not go into further detail regarding her medical issues but did share that she was \u201cnot going to be able to rehearse\u201d for the shows. She did however joke with her doctors that \u201cit must be time for my 100,000-mile check-up, although it\u2019s not the usual trip to see my plastic surgeon!\u201d<\/p>\n Check out her comments below. <\/p>\n It has been a tough year for Dolly Parton. <\/p>\n In March, her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Thomas Dean, died aged 82<\/strong><\/a>. Following his death, the country music legend said that she had put writing new songs \u201con hold\u201d to cope with the loss.\u00a0She did, however, release the moving single \u2018If You Hadn\u2019t Been There<\/strong><\/a>\u2019 – a tribute song to her late husband, who inspired her timeless hit \u2018Jolene\u2019. <\/p>\n In August, as part of its 70th anniversary celebrations,\u00a0Guinness World Records honoured Dolly as one of their icons<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n The company \u2013 which lists world record achievements \u2013 gave her an Icon certificate, presented to her at her studios in Nashville, Tennessee, celebrating the fact that she\u00a0holds 11 record-breaking titles.<\/p>\n These\u00a0include most consecutive decades with top 10 album entries on the Billboard country chart, most studio albums released by a female country singer, and most Grammy nominations for a female country artist.<\/p>\n Parton was also the first country singer to be nominated for the EGOT \u2013 an Emmy, a Grammy, an Oscar and a Tony \u2013 aka the \u201cGrand Slam of showbusiness\u201d.<\/p>\n
