Dolly has been having some health issues, and Freida asked fans to pray for her on Tuesday. What followed was a whole bunch of love and a lot of headlines, too.<\/p>\n
It has been a rough year for the iconic singer, after all. She lost her husband, Carl Dean, back on March 3 at the age of 83. <\/p>\n
And in the wake of that, and before her health issues began, Parton, 79, shared some thoughts that made it clear just how much she is hurting. <\/p>\n
She and Dean were together for 60 years, and with him gone, she said, so is songwriting for the foreseeable future.<\/p>\n
\u201cMy husband passed away three months ago \u2026\u201d Parton said during an appearance on Khlo\u00e9 Kardashian\u2019s \u201cKhlo\u00e9 in Wonder Land\u201d podcast.<\/b><\/a> \u201cSeveral things I wanted to start, but I can\u2019t do it. I will later, but I\u2019m just coming up with such wonderful, beautiful ideas. But I think I won\u2019t finish it.<\/p>\n \u201cI can\u2019t do it right now because I\u2019ve got so many other things that I can\u2019t afford the luxury of getting that emotional right now,\u201d she added. \u201cSo there are times like that, things like that that will start here a little bit, but I\u2019ll write something else, though, if it comes. <\/p>\n \u201cSo I\u2019m just putting that all on hold.\u201d<\/p>\n It is both understandable and heartbreaking to see the legend, known for her heart of gold, still hurting to much.<\/p>\n \u201cThis is a love note to family, friends, and fans,\u201d Parton wrote on X days after Dean\u2019s death. \u201cThank you for all the messages, cards, and flowers that you\u2019ve sent to pay your respects for the loss of my beloved husband Carl. I can\u2019t reach out personally to each of you but just know it has meant the world to me. He is in God\u2019s arms now and I am okay with that. <\/p>\n \u201cI will always love you.\u201d<\/p>\n When she announced Dean\u2019s death on March 3, she wrote: \u201cCarl and I spent many wonderful years together.
