Dolly Parton\u2019s sister, Freida, is clearing the air after she publicly asked for prayers amid the country music<\/a> legend\u2019s recent health issues.<\/p>\n “I want to clear something up. I didn\u2019t mean to scare anyone or make it sound so serious when asking for prayers for Dolly,” Freida wrote in a Facebook post<\/a> late Tuesday night, Oct. 7. <\/p>\n \u201cShe\u2019s been a little under the weather, and I simply asked for prayers because I believe so strongly in the power of prayer,\u201d she continued. \u201cIt was nothing more than a little sister asking for prayers for her big sister. Thank you all for lifting her up. Your love truly makes a difference.”<\/p>\n Concern rose over the \u201c9 to 5\u2033 hitmaker\u2019s health after her sister shared another Facebook post<\/a> earlier on Tuesday, in which Freida said she “was up all night praying for my sister.”<\/p>\n \u201cMany of you know she hasn\u2019t been feeling her best lately. I truly believe in the power of prayer, and I have been lead to ask all of the world that loves her to be prayer warriors and pray with me,\u201d the post read. \u201cShe\u2019s strong, she\u2019s loved, and with all the prayers being lifted for her, I know in my heart she\u2019s going to be just fine. Godspeed, my sissy Dolly. We all love you!”<\/p>\n Freida was referring to Dolly\u2019s recent health challenges<\/a> that have caused the Grammy Award winner to skip out on several recent appearances<\/a>. On Sept. 17, Dolly had to miss<\/a> the opening of a new experience at her theme park, Dollywood<\/a>, because of kidney stones.<\/p>\n \u201cHello Dollywood. It\u2019s me. I know. I\u2019m here, you\u2019re there and you\u2019re wondering why that is,\u201d Parton said in a pre-recorded apology video that played at the event and was posted to X<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cWell, I had a little problem. I had a kidney stone, which was causing me a lot of problems. Turns out there was an infection and the doctor said, \u2018You don\u2019t need to be traveling right this minute. So, you need a few days to get better,\u2019\u201d the 11-time Grammy winner said. \u201cSo he suggested I don\u2019t go to Dollywood today. I want to make this clear, I was looking so forward to it.\u201d<\/p>\n Parton ended the clip by reassuring fans that she will \u201cbe back as quick as I can,\u201d adding, \u201cI\u2019m going to be okay. I just can\u2019t do it today.\u201d <\/p>\n The week after, Parton postponed<\/a> her upcoming Las Vegas shows because of \u201chealth challenges.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI want the fans and public to hear directly from me that, unfortunately, I will need to postpone my upcoming Las Vegas concerts,\u201d Parton wrote in an Instagram post<\/a> on Sept. 28. \u201cAs many of you know, I\u2019ve been dealing with some health challenges, and my doctors tell me that I must have a few procedures. As I joked with them, it must be time for my 100,000 check-up, although it\u2019s not the usual trip to see my plastic surgeon!\u201d<\/p>\n She continued, \u201cIn all seriousness, given this, I am not going to be able to rehearse and put together the show that I want you to see, and the show that you deserve to see. You pay good money to see me perform, and I want to be at my best for you. And don\u2019t worry about me quittin\u2019 the business because God hasn\u2019t said anything about stopping yet. But, I believe He is telling me to slow down right now so I can be ready for more big adventures with all of you.
