Dolly Parton’s sister is trying to calm fears after a Facebook post about the singer caused concern amid some health challenges.<\/p>\n

“I want to clear something up,” Freida Parton wrote on Facebook. “I didn’t mean to scare anyone or make it sound so serious when asking for prayers for Dolly.”<\/p>\n

Freida Parton made her first post on Facebook asking for “prayer warriors” to lift up her sister just before noon Oct. 7.<\/p>\n

Hours later, Freida Parton made the second post assuaging fears.<\/p>\n

“She\u2019s been a little under the weather, and I simply asked for prayers because I believe so strongly in the power of prayer,” she said. “It was nothing more than a little sister asking for prayers for her big sister. Thank you all for lifting her up. Your love truly makes a difference.”<\/p>\n

Is Dolly Parton sick?<\/h2>\n

Dolly Parton, 79, announced her own health struggles on Sept. 28<\/a>, postponing some upcoming performance dates in Las Vegas.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs I joked with them, it must be time for my 100,000-mile check-up, although it\u2019s not the usual trip to see my plastic surgeon,\u201d Dolly Parton wrote in a social media post.<\/p>\n

Dolly Parton alluded to needing some procedures, but didn’t specify how many or what those procedures were in her post. She did say she wasn’t stepping away from her business obligations.<\/p>\n

“I just need a little time to get show ready, as they say. And don\u2019t worry about me quittin\u2019 the business because God hasn\u2019t said anything about stopping yet,” she said.<\/p>\n
