Dolly Parton is sharing an update on her health one day after her sister activated the superstar\u2019s fanbase by asking for their prayers.<\/p>\n
\u201cI know lately everybody thinks that I am sicker than I am,\u201d Parton said in a video posted to Instagram Wednesday, captioning the post, \u201cI ain\u2019t dead yet!\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cDo I look sick to you?\u201d Parton said in the video. \u201cI\u2019m working hard here!\u201d<\/p>\n
Parton, who noted she was filming the video on Oct. 8 in between working on commercials, said she wanted to \u201cput everybody\u2019s mind at ease, those of you that seem to be real concerned.\u201d She assured fans she is \u201cOK\u201d but said she has \u201csome problems\u201d to deal with and is undergoing \u201ca few treatments.\u201d<\/p>\n
The singer went on to share that after her husband, Carl Dean, died earlier this year, she \u201cdidn\u2019t take care of myself\u201d and \u201clet a lot of things go that I should have been taking care of.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cWhen I got around to it, the doctor said, \u2018We need to take care of this, we need to take care of that,\u201d she explained. \u201cNothing major, but I did have to cancel some things so I could be closer to home.\u201d<\/p>\n
But Parton added, \u201cI wanted you to know that I\u2019m not dying!\u201d She concluded, \u201cI\u2019m not ready to die yet. I don\u2019t think God is through with me, and I ain\u2019t done working.\u201d<\/p>\n
The 79-year-old\u2019s comments come on the heels of Freida Parton calling upon fellow \u201cprayer warriors\u201d on her sister\u2019s <\/a>behalf<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cLast night, I was up all night praying for my sister, Dolly,\u201d Parton wrote in an Oct. 7 Facebook post. \u201cMany of you know she hasn\u2019t been feeling her best lately. I truly believe in the power of prayer, and I have been (led) to ask all of the world that loves her to be prayer warriors and pray with me.\u201d<\/p>\n The post concluded, \u201cShe\u2019s strong, she\u2019s loved, and with all the prayers being lifted for her, I know in my heart she\u2019s going to be just fine. Godspeed, my sissy Dolly. We all love you! \u201c<\/p>\n Dolly Parton previously opened up about her health issues in a Sept. 28 social media post announcing the postponement of her Las Vegas concerts.<\/p>\n \u201cAs many of you know, I\u2019ve been dealing with some health challenges, and my doctors tell me that I must have a few procedures,\u201d she said. \u201cI am not going to be able to rehearse and put together the show that I want you to see, and the show that you deserve to see. You pay good money to see me perform, and I want to be at my best for you.\u201d<\/p>\n Though her condition will still allow her to \u201cwork on all of my projects from here in Nashville,\u201d Parton said: \u201cI just need a little time to get show ready.\u201d<\/p>\n
