For a guy who has only had about two minutes of screen time, we have a lot of thoughts about Steve Howey\u2019s character on High Potential<\/em>.<\/p>\n The Reba\/Shameless<\/em> vet made his debut on Tuesday\u2019s episode, playing the series-regular role of hot-shot captain Nick Wagner. The first thing out of his mouth was a misattributed Bible quote, which Morgan clocked immediately\u2026 before also clocking his questionable facial hair. (\u201cWhat\u2019s someone like you doing in a police station? Trying to get that mustache to make sense?\u201d)<\/p>\n More from TVLine<\/strong><\/p>\n Things got awkward when Captain Wagner, dressed like the villain in an old Western movie, properly introduced himself as Morgan\u2019s new superior. Well, that was after he dropped a creepy \u201cI\u2019ve heard about you,\u201d then insisted he \u201cdidn\u2019t mean to freak [her] out.\u201d<\/p>\n So, what are we supposed to make of this guy? Friend? Foe? Something in-between? Morgan certainly doesn\u2019t trust him, and Judy Reyes (aka Selena Soto) tells TVLine that she\u2019s inclined to agree.<\/p>\n \u201cHe\u2019s pretty mysterious and hard to trust, right?\u201d Reyes asks. \u201cHe\u2019s coming in already stepping on Soto\u2019s toes. The captain technically isn\u2019t around much, but now he is, so what the hell is he doing there?\u201d Soto confirms that Morgan and Nick \u201care going to clash,\u201d as hinted at during their tense first interaction, but we\u2019re surprised to hear that \u201che and Karadec develop a powerful working relationship.\u201d<\/p>\n So maybe we shouldn\u2019t<\/em> be too quick to judge the new captain? After all, with Howey being a series regular, the guy could very well be sticking around for the long haul.
