Beloved singer-songwriter Dolly Parton<\/a> has issued a statement from the set of a new music video after posts from her younger sister caused panic amongst fans.<\/p>\n

On October 7th, Dolly\u2019s younger sister, Freida, took to Facebook to share her worry for her older sister. She wrote, \u201cMany of you know she hasn\u2019t been feeling her best lately. I truly believe in the power of prayer, and I have been lead to ask all of the world that loves her to be prayer warriors and pray with me.\u201d<\/p>\n

After the post caused panic online, she was forced to release a follow-up statement that attempted to reassure fans that the singer was only \u201ca little under the weather\u201d. <\/p>\n

It was then confirmed by the Las Vegas Review-Journal<\/a> <\/em>that the singer is in good health and is waiting for a procedure to address kidney stones. They also shared that the 79-year-old musician was also set to record a music video on October 8th.<\/p>\n

It was from the set of that music video that Parton shared her own update on the matter. In the video, she confirmed the date, and explained her jazzy get-up: \u201cObviously, I\u2019m here doing some commercials for the Grand Ole Opry, which is why I\u2019m dressed kind of like a country-western girl.\u201d<\/p>\n

Parton changed her tone slightly and addressed the inadvertent panic caused in recent days. \u201cI know lately everybody thinks that I am sicker than I am,\u201d she said. \u201cDo I look sick to you? I\u2019m working hard here.\u201d<\/p>\n

The \u20189 to 5\u2019 singer continued, \u201cAnyway, I wanted to put everybody\u2019s mind at ease, those of you that seem to be real concerned, which I appreciate, and I appreciate your prayers because I\u2019m a person of faith.\u201d<\/p>\n

Parton then referenced the tragic passing of her husband earlier this year. She shared, \u201cAs I mentioned back when my husband Carl was very sick, that was for a long time, and then when he passed, I didn\u2019t take care of myself, so I let a lot of things go that I should have been taken care of.\u201d<\/p>\n

She had reiterated this sentiment when she postponed her Las Vegas residency earlier this year due to \u201chealth challenges.\u201d In a statement at the time, the \u2018Jolene\u2019 singer said, \u201cMy doctors tell me that I must have a few procedures<\/a>. As I joked with them, it must be time for my 100,000-mile check-up, although it\u2019s not the usual trip to see my plastic surgeon!\u201d<\/p>\n

She recounted, \u201cSo anyway, when I got round to it, the doctor said, \u2018We need to take care of this. We need to take care of that.\u2019 Nothing major, but I did have to cancel some things so I could be closer to home, closer to Vanderbilt, you know, where I\u2019m kind of having a few treatments here and there.\u201d<\/p>\n

Parton also addressed an AI photo she had seen, which depicts her fellow country star Reba McEntire<\/a> at her deathbed. \u201cWe both looked like we need to be buried,\u201d she laughed merrily.<\/p>\n
