EXCLUSIVE:<\/strong> Shut Up (Oro Jaska)<\/em>, a Norwegian-produced drama set within the S\u00e1mi community, is set to launch at MIPCOM.<\/p>\n Norse Key Distribution, which makes its Cannes debut next week, has boarded the series and lining up a launch for the International Emmy- and Prix Europa-nominated show. A screening will be held on Tuesday, October 14.<\/p>\n More from Deadline<\/strong><\/p>\n Norse Key said the series, from showrunners\u00a0Silje B\u00fcrgin-Borch\u00a0and Vegard Bj\u00f8rsmo, has been hailed for its representation of the indigenous S\u00e1mi people, as sparked local dialog around social issues, identity and justice.<\/p>\n Set in a small town in the heart of S\u00e1pmi, the cross-country region where the S\u00e1mi people live,\u00a0it\u00a0follows Elli Anne, a young S\u00e1mi woman whose world collapses after a brutal rape. As she searches for truth and justice within a tightly bound community, suspicion falls on Issat, a local snow-cross champion \u2013 a revelation that threatens to expose his own deeply-held secret: That he is queer.<\/p>\n \u201cWe are thrilled to bring Shut Up<\/em>\u00a0to the international stage,\u201d\u00a0said\u00a0Maria Kivinen, founder of\u00a0Norse Key Distribution parent Norse\u00a0Key\u00a0Studios.\u00a0\u201cThis series embodies everything we want to stand for: authentic voices, bold storytelling, and stories that resonate far beyond their origin.\u201d<\/p>\n The series comes from Alfredfilm, Feelgood SFT, Snowreel and Rabbit Films. It was nominated in the Kids: Live Action category. Locally, it aired on NRK in Norway, YLE in Finland and SVT in Sweden.<\/p>\n As we reported first<\/a> earlier this year, former YLE sales exec Kivinen set up the Helsinki-based Norse Key as a TV and film distribution and financing business. The debut slate included Influencer Apprentice<\/em>, which was a top performing show at YLE and comes from Podzilla Studios.
