The Morning Show<\/em><\/a> star Jennifer Aniston<\/a> is speaking out against the \u201cnarrative\u201d that she hadn\u2019t had children due to being \u201ca selfish workaholic,\u201d revealing she underwent a private 20-year pursuit to conceive<\/a>.<\/p>\n In a new interview with Harper\u2019s Bazaar UK<\/em><\/a>, the 56-year-old Friends<\/em><\/a> alum admitted she felt pressured into responding to media speculation about why she\u2019s never had children, something she\u2019d previously kept to herself.<\/p>\n \u201cThey didn\u2019t know my story, or what I\u2019d been going through over the past 20 years to try to pursue a family, because I don\u2019t go out there and tell them my medical woes,\u201d Aniston said. \u201cThat\u2019s not anybody\u2019s business. But there comes a point when you can\u2019t not hear it \u2013 the narrative about how I won\u2019t have a baby, won\u2019t have a family, because I\u2019m selfish, a workaholic.\u201d<\/p>\n Aniston confessed the speculation \u201cdoes affect\u201d her, saying, \u201cI\u2019m just a human being. We\u2019re all human beings. That\u2019s why I thought, \u2018What the hell?\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n The Emmy-winning actress, who was married to Brad Pitt<\/a> from 2000 to 2005 and to Justin Theroux<\/a> from 2015 to 2018, previously opened up in a 2022 interview with Allure<\/em><\/a>, where she revealed she\u2019d undergone IVF treatment.<\/p>\n \u201cMy late thirties, forties, I\u2019d gone through really hard s***, and if it wasn\u2019t for going through that, I would\u2019ve never become who I was meant to be. I was trying to get pregnant,\u201d she shared, adding, \u201cI was going through IVF, drinking Chinese teas, you name it. I was throwing everything at it.\u201d<\/p>\n Aniston told Harper\u2019s Bazaar UK<\/em> that part of the reason she ultimately decided to speak out was because she knew many other women at the time who were trying to have kids and dealing with IVF. \u201cSo it did feel like it was not only for myself, but for any women who were struggling with the same issue,\u201d she stated.<\/p>\n These days, though, Aniston said she is less concerned with correcting made-up media speculation and online rumors.<\/p>\n \u201cThe news cycle is so fast, it just goes away,\u201d she said. \u201cOf course, there are times when I feel that sense of justice \u2013 when something has been said that isn\u2019t true, and I need to right the wrong. And then I think, do I really? My family knows my truth, my friends know my truth.\u201d<\/p>\n
