Sonically, it\u2019s very visceral.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ve been drawn to sounds that sit on the edge: ominous, uneasy, sometimes even uncomfortable. That\u2019s just where I\u2019ve been emotionally, and I think the world reflects that too. There\u2019s this constant push and pull between wanting to rise above the chaos, and sometimes, willingly sinking into it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Last year, <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/news\/music\/kelly-lee-owens-interview-dreamstate-the-1975-dirty-hit-dh2-charli-xcx-3803008\">Owens spoke to <i>NME <\/i>about \u2018Dreamstate\u2019<\/a>, explaining: \u201cUltimately it\u2019s arriving at a place in my life where I accept who I am, and the parts of me that had been shamed before: it\u2019s derogatory to be a daydreamer, and actually the happiest parts of myself are when I\u2019m either in those states alone, or those states alone allow me to come together with other people in those states.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>She continued: \u201cIt\u2019s the thing that I almost enjoy the most about being human, ironically, is finding a dreamstate, and I feel on a bigger collective level, it\u2019s also what\u2019s needed most as a reminder of the importance of taking the time away to dream and to be in that place.
