As speculation runs wild about which multiversal heroes will appear in the upcoming Avengers: Secret Wars<\/span><\/strong>, Andrew Garfield<\/span><\/strong>\u2019s latest answer isn\u2019t shocking for fans. Following his infamous lies about not being in Spider-Man: No Way Home, Garfield\u2019s newest comments feel like a familiar and welcome echo from the past.<\/p>\n

Andrew Garfield loves Spider-Verse movies, picks his Marvel team-up choices<\/h2>\n

Andrew Garfield was asked by MTV\u2019s Josh Horowitz<\/a> if he\u2019d appear in Avengers: Secret Wars, the upcoming Russo Brothers-directed film that will conclude Marvel\u2019s Multiverse Saga. After a laugh and keeping it ambiguous, he replied, \u201cYou\u2019ll find out! Whatever response I\u2019m having, is it exasperation? Is it? I don\u2019t know. You\u2019ll find out.\u201d<\/p>\n

This ambiguity is a tactic fans recognize all too well. For months leading up to Spider-Man: No Way Home, Garfield vehemently denied his involvement, even famously saying<\/a>, \u201cI\u2019m not the Werewolf.\u201d Then his return alongside Tobey Maguire became one of the most celebrated cinematic surprises in recent memory. Many now suspect he\u2019s simply repeating history by dodging questions about Secret Wars.<\/p>\n

While avoiding a direct answer, Garfield did share<\/a> which Marvel stars he\u2019d like to team up with if given the chance. \u201cYeah, I love Hugh Jackman,\u201d he said, praising the Deadpool & Wolverine actor who reprised his role as Wolverine in 2024. He also expressed admiration for Tom Hardy\u2019s Venom, calling Hardy \u201ca really formidable actor\u201d and saying he\u2019d be \u201cup for a good time.\u201d<\/p>\n

Additionally, Garfield mentioned his fondness for the animated Spider-Verse films, saying, \u201cI really love the Spider-Verse movies. I love Lord and Miller. Just putting that out there.\u201d His The Amazing Spider-Man version briefly appeared via archival footage in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (2023), and his appearance in the 2027 movie Beyond the Spider-Verse isn\u2019t out of the question either.<\/p>\n

But whether he returns in Avengers: Secret Wars remains to be seen. It releases in 2027, following Avengers: Doomsday, which is set for a December 2026 release. Robert Downey Jr. is returning as Doctor Doom, and the film also stars The Fantastic Four: First Steps leads, along with many other Avengers cast members.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
