The employer of Perry Tole<\/strong>, the man allegedly attacked by former NFL quarterback Mark Sanchez<\/strong><\/a>, has broken their silence about the shocking altercation.<\/span><\/p>\n

Tole, 69, works for Restaurant Technologies, a company that specializes in cooking oil delivery and hands-free waste cooking oil disposal.<\/span><\/p>\n

While attempting to perform his duties in downtown Indianapolis in the early morning hours of Saturday, October 4, Tole was allegedly attacked by Sanchez, 38<\/a>, who claimed Tole\u2019s box truck was not allowed to be parked in an alley where the former New York Jets star was reportedly seen doing wind sprints.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In a statement to the Indy Star<\/i><\/a> on Wednesday, October 8, Restaurant Technologies explained they offer a variety of schedule options for their employees.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tSurveillance footage from the night of the dramatic stabbing incident involving former NFL quarterback Mark Sanchez paints a shocking picture. Sanchez, 38, can be seen jogging in the alley behind Indianapolis\u2019 Loughmiller\u2019s Pub & Eatery in the early morning hours of Saturday, October 5, according to court documents obtained by Us Weekly. \u201cThis aligns with the diverse schedules of the food service industry and allows our employees to find the shift that works best for their individual needs,\u201d said Dave Cheng<\/strong>, spokesperson for Restaurant Technologies. \u201cDeliveries may take place late at night or early in the morning so that we provide service at the most efficient and convenient time for our customers and maintain our high level of driver satisfaction through flexible scheduling.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The company said it had reached out to Tole\u2019s family to \u201coffer support and [the company] will be determining what is needed in the days and weeks to come.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Tole has been released from Indianapolis\u2019 Methodist Hospital and is currently recovering at home.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In photos shared by his family<\/a> on Sunday, October 5, Tole could be seen badly injured with a huge gash on his left cheek. Tole allegedly stabbed Sanchez multiple times in self-defense during the altercation, which also sent Sanchez to the hospital.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Restaurant Technologies also expressed their \u201cheartfelt thanks\u201d to first responders on the scene for \u201cproviding exceptional assistance in responding to the incident, helping our employee reach safety and get medical care.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Sanchez was initially charged with three misdemeanors for his role in the alleged attack: battery resulting in injury, public intoxication and unlawful entry of a motor vehicle.<\/span><\/p>\n

The former quarterback, who was in Indianapolis to call the game between the Indianapolis Colts and Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday, allegedly attempted to enter Tole\u2019s truck without permission.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Marion County Prosecutor Ryan Mears<\/strong> announced Sanchez is now facing a level 5 felony charge during a press conference on Monday, October 6. The charge carries a penalty of one to five years in prison.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Tole filed a lawsuit against Sanchez and Fox Corporation on Monday, saying he sustained \u201cserious bodily injury\u201d due to Sanchez\u2019s \u201cmalicious, willful, wanton or grossly negligent conduct.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

According to the lawsuit<\/a>, Tole suffered severe \u201cpermanent disfigurement, loss of function, other physical injuries, emotional distress and other damages.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
