Deadline<\/a> originally reported the news.<\/p>\nMichael Gracey, the director of The Greatest Showman<\/a>, is attached to direct the remake of Disney\u2019s 2010 animated film. Though casting has yet to be cemented, Scarlett Johansson<\/a>, 40, is in talks to star as Mother Gothel, Rapunzel\u2019s evil captor voiced by Donna Murphy in the original.<\/p>\nTangled follows the story of Princess Rapunzel, who wears a crown of magical, long, blonde hair, escaping her secluded tower with the help of an outlaw, Flynn Rider.
