A\u00a0high-profile documentary on first lady Melania Trump now has a release date, with Amazon MGM Studios saying it\u2019ll premiere in theaters in January.<\/p>\n

\u201cMelania\u201d will be released on Jan. 30 in U.S. theaters before streaming on Prime Video, the media giant announced Thursday.<\/p>\n

The first lady served as an executive producer on the big screen project. Plans for the Brett Ratner-directed doc were\u00a0originally announced<\/a>\u00a0in January.<\/p>\n

Critics, including Democratic strategist James Carville,\u00a0had questioned<\/a>\u00a0the reported $40 million budget for the documentary, calling the price tag \u201cbreathtaking.\u201d<\/p>\n

The documentary will offer \u201cunprecedented access to the 20 days leading up to the 2025 presidential inauguration \u2014 through the eyes of the first lady-elect herself,\u201d Amazon MGM Studios teased on Thursday.<\/p>\n

The production will include \u201cexclusive footage capturing critical meetings, private conversations, and never-before-seen environments.\u201d<\/p>\n

Viewers, the studio said, will be able to \u201cstep inside Melania Trump\u2019s world as she orchestrates inauguration plans, navigates the complexities of the White House transition, and reenters public life with her family\u201d through the film and an accompanying three-part docuseries.<\/p>\n
