Dua Lipa has made it a tradition of singing a song made famous by the area she performs at every night \u2014 and Wednesday night at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles was no exception. During her fourth sold-out Radical Optimism tour stop in the city, Lipa welcomed Gwen Stefani to the stage for a performance of No Doubt\u2019s \u201cDon\u2019t Speak.<\/p>\n
Before Stefani joined Lipa onstage, the \u201cHoudini\u201d singer shared some sweet words about the No Doubt frontwoman. \u201cI wanted to dive into one of my personal heroes. One of my favorite artists, and who I grew up listening to my whole life,\u201d Lipa told the crowd. \u201cSomeone who\u2019s influenced my music, my style, someone who I love as a performer, and someone who constantly keeps redefining herself and music. I just absolutely love her.\u201d<\/p>\n

And so, L.A., you lucky fuckers, get to have the one and only, Gwen Stefani!\u201d<\/p>\n The performance came near the middle of the show after playing her Radical Optimism underrated gem, \u201cThese Walls,\u201d and while surrounded by her entire band.<\/p>\n Stefani and Lipa have shown love to each other in the past. The pair posed for photos together at the iHeart Music Festival last September, during which Stefani called Lipa<\/a> the \u201cprettiest girl in the world.\u201d Stefani even joined Lipa for the Mark Ronson Remix of \u201cPhysical\u201d back in 2020.<\/p>\n \u201cWe basically contacted Gwen and her team to try and clear the sample for \u2018Hollaback Girl,\u2019 for Club Future Nostalgia,\u201d Lipa told Apple Music in 2021. \u201cAnd I was like, \u2018Maybe we should just ask, put a feeler out, see if she wants to do something.\u2019 And she loved Mark Ronson\u2019s remix of \u2018Physical.\u2019 And she was like, \u2018I\u2019d love to jump on this.\u2019 I\u2019m like, \u2018Hell yeah, let\u2019s go. This is surreal.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n Lipa has four shows left on the U.S. leg of her tour: she\u2019s set to play twice in San Francisco and then twice more in Seattle before a run in South America and Mexico through November and early December.
