KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) \u2014 A young actor from East Tennessee appeared in the debut of a highly-anticipated new ABC show on Thursday.<\/p>\n

Nine-year-old Sawyer Ruth Johnson appeared in the series premiere of \u201c9-1-1: Nashville\u201d on Thursday.<\/p>\n

Growing Knoxville film industry boosted by \u20189-1-1: Nashville\u2019 episode <\/a><\/p>\n

It\u2019s not the first major network acting credit for Johnson. She appeared in an episode of the popular HBO series \u201cThe Righteous Gemstones\u201d and the HBO original documentary \u201cAlabama Snake,\u201d according to IMDb.<\/p>\n

\u201c9-1-1: Nashville\u201d is the second spin-off of the popular \u201c9-1-1\u201d franchise, following \u201c9-1-1: Lone Star.\u201d The main cast includes Chris O\u2019Donnell, Jessica Capshaw, Kimberly Williams-Paisley and LeAnn Rimes. Country star Kane Brown also appeared as a guest star in the inaugural episode.<\/p>\n
