The 9-1-1<\/em> universe is expanding. The ABC<\/a> procedural drama is welcoming its second spinoff, 9-1-1: Nashville<\/a><\/em>, on Thursday.<\/p>\n The new show, which stars Chris O\u2019Donnell, Jessica Capshaw, LeAnn Rimes and Kimberly Williams-Paisley, follows firefighters, paramedics and police officers in the Tennessee capital as they navigate life-threatening situations and the chaos of their everyday lives.<\/p>\n \u201cThe first three or four episodes are going to be big, like super big, and lots of big storms coming in \u2014 both figuratively for the characters but also literal,\u201d 9-1-1: Nashville<\/em> showrunner Rashad Raisani told The Wrap<\/a> in September. \u201cWe\u2019re going to do what Nashville is known for, among many things, country music and honky-tonks and tornadoes. We\u2019ll probably have all three in our first few episodes.\u201d<\/p>\n Ahead of its premiere, here\u2019s everything you need to know about the show\u2019s emergency responders.<\/p>\n 9-1-1: Nashville<\/em> is led by Captain Don Hart (O\u2019Donnell), who runs the show\u2019s team of emergency responders. According to Collider<\/a>, Hart married into a wealthy family, which he has a complicated relationship with. Things are further complicated when Don learns he has another child, Blue (Hunter McVey). It\u2019s a revelation that throws his personal life and professional life into turmoil.<\/p>\n Dixie Bennings (Rimes) is a former background singer and single mother who becomes embroiled with the Hart family by way of her son, Blue. Bennings convinces Blue to connect with the Hart family because of her own ulterior motives, but Hart\u2019s wife Blythe Hart (Capshaw) is on to her.<\/p>\n \u201cIt will get heated; there\u2019s definitely drama between them,\u201d Rimes told USA Today<\/a>. \u201cEspecially when I was younger, I\u2019ve had to hold up to this (wholesome) image. It\u2019s so nice and healing to dig into this other side. \u201c<\/p>\n Rimes added later that viewers will get to see \u201cDixie struggling around music.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cBut she\u2019s not all country music,\u201d she added. \u201cDixie is similar to me in that she can sing it all.\u201d<\/p>\n Blue Bennings (McVey) is a Nashville firefighter and Don\u2019s secret son, and he is described as a \u201chaunted bad-boy\u201d type, Screen Rant<\/a> reported. Raisani said that Blue is \u201cactually a stripper by trade,\u201d makes quite the entrance into the firehouse and \u201cupends everything,\u201d according to TV Insider<\/a>.<\/p>\n Blythe Hart (Capshaw) is Don\u2019s wife and Ryan\u2019s mother, and she is a force to be reckoned with. She goes toe-to-toe with Rimes\u2019 Dixie throughout the season.<\/p>\n Ryan Hart (Michael Provost) is Don and Blythe\u2019s son. He followed in his father\u2019s footsteps by becoming a firefighter and runs the firehouse with Don.
