Alemeda has teamed up with Doechii for a new single. On Friday, the Ethiopian American singer <\/a>dropped her long-teased collaboration with the Swamp Princess, \u201cBeat A B!tch Up,\u201d while also unveiling the track list for her upcoming EP, But What the Hell Do I Know.<\/em><\/p>\n \u201c\u2018Beat A B!tch Up\u2019 is about caring so deeply for someone that you\u2019d do anything for them, even if they wouldn\u2019t do the same for you,\u201d said Alemeda in a press release. \u201cObviously, the title is not literal, it\u2019s more about how far I\u2019d go to show up for people, even when it hurts me.\u201d<\/p>\n More from Rolling Stone<\/strong><\/p>\n The video unfolds on a ship that doubles as a boxing ring and opens with Alemeda soaking in an ice bath. Soon, the camera cuts to two men trading punches and another leaping overboard before Doechii arrives, speeding up on a jet ski.<\/p>\n Alemeda roams the decks and sings about how she \u201creally would beat a bitch up,\u201d before Doechii raps, \u201cYou take me out of my element\/Just for me to do things you never did\/Die for me or die with that other bitch\/You pick.\u201d The video ends with literal fireworks as Alemeda performs on a floating stage with her band.<\/p>\n The new single follows \u201c1-800-F**K-YOU\u201d and \u201cChameleon\u201d featuring Rachel Chinouriri. Alemeda has been teasing the collaboration during live shows over the last year. But What the Hell Do I Know<\/em> also comes about a year after releasing her debut EP, FK IT<\/em>, which included her breakthrough, \u201cGonna Bleach My Eyebrows.\u201d<\/p>\n Last year, Alemeda spoke to Rolling Stone<\/em><\/a> about choosing to pursue a pop-rock sound in her music.<\/p>\n \u201cI love it, because it\u2019s so easy, and on top of that, there\u2019s such a scarcity of women who look like me doing it.
