Oklou<\/a> has announced the deluxe edition of her debut album \u2018Choke Enough\u2019 and released its first single, \u2018Viscus\u2019 featuring FKA Twigs<\/a>.<\/p>\n The French singer is set to release four new songs including \u2018Viscus\u2019 on October 30 via Because\/True Panther. An expansion-pack vinyl will arrive afterwards on November 28 \u2013 pre-save\/pre-order here<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u2018Viscus\u2019 sees the pair duet over a jaunty, ethereal synth, as the pair trade lines over their shared anxieties about their stomach pains: \u201cAll this fear that I hold \/ Is building up layers of time \/ Can I just scream it all \/ Instead of it choking up my lungs?\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n Speaking about the track, producer Danny L Harle<\/a> wrote\u00a0on Instagram<\/a> that \u201cwhen we first put the skeleton of this song together it had no lyrics, just a framework of beautiful interconnecting melodies. A few months later I saw a tiktok of Marylou performing it with lyrics that weaved her experience of pregnancy and memory into the fabric of the song. it was a profound experience.<\/p>\n \u201cMarylou then left it to me to finish the production whilst she had her baby and record Twigs singing the feature, which came very easily to her, the perfect addition lyrically and melodically to the composition\u201d.<\/p>\n Take a listen to \u2018viscus\u2019 down below:<\/p>\n We spoke to Oklou for The Cover,<\/a> where she spoke to us about how love inspires her artistry. \u201cI think I grew up under a very romantic and, of course, patriarchal vision of what love is and how you\u2019re supposed to experience it as a woman and as a partner \u2013 and also as an artist,\u201d Mayniel told us.<\/p>\n She also hinted at the impact of her pregnancy on her music, adding: \u201cAfter what I\u2019ve experienced \u2013 and after having thought about love so much, and questioning the way I\u2019m built for that \u2013 I couldn\u2019t make music in the same way.\u201d<\/p>\n Meanwhile, FKA Twigs is gearing up to release her new album \u2018EUSEXUA: Afterglow\u2019<\/a> on November 14.<\/p>\n The artist and\u00a0NME<\/em>\u00a0Godlike Genius winner<\/a>\u00a0first announced the follow-up to her\u00a0Mercury-nominated<\/a>\u00a02025 record\u00a0\u2018EUSEXUA\u2019<\/a> last month; it will serve as an entirely new album, rather than a deluxe as it was first believed.<\/p>\n We reviewed \u2018EUSEXUA\u2019 when it first landed<\/a>, giving it five stars and writing: \u201cTwigs has successfully shown that the connection of music, movement, mind, soul and body can be converted into sound, weaving these elements into a cohesive and transcendent artistic experience.<\/p>\n Then, when the singer visited London for two performances at Magazine, we gave her performance four stars<\/a>: \u201cDancers hang chains connected to her dress to all four corners of the box and every spotlight is rigged onto her; Twigs has no choice but to bare her soul to the crowd.<\/p>\n \u201cTo end the set with a song that expresses such spiritual suffering with some of the most magnificent vocals is truly brave; every tremble and crack in her voice is deeply felt, and it\u2019s the most connected we feel to her all night.
