He was 43. The late actor is now the subject of a new documentary directed by Colin Hanks and produced by Ryan Reynolds, titled &#8220;John Candy: I Like Me.&#8221; It features numerous interviews with those who knew and loved Candy, including Bill Murray, Tom Hanks, Steve Martin and Catherine O\u2019Hara. And then it was like the kids needed to get into it. But this was part of self-care, like going to the doctor. He was five years old when his father, Sidney Candy, died suddenly of a heart attack at age 35, days before the actor\u2019s birthday.
