Elisabeth Hasselbeck<\/a> got teary-eyed on Thursday (October 9) as she responded to her former The View<\/em><\/a> co-host Rosie O\u2019Donnell<\/a> after the pair\u2019s 2007 feud was reignited earlier this week.<\/a><\/p>\n O\u2019Donnell\u00a0recently appeared on the Australian radio show Ricki-Lee, Tim & Joel<\/em><\/a>, where she said she believed her \u201csplit-screen\u201d spat about the Iraq War<\/a> with Hasselbeck in a 2007 episode of The View<\/em> was a \u201csetup\u201d by producers and called out the conservative commentator for not having her back.<\/p>\n Hasselbeck fired back on Thursday in a series of Instagram Stories, per Entertainment Weekly<\/em><\/a>, which have since expired. In the videos, the Survivor<\/em><\/a> alum said she is friends with many people who disagree with her politics, including fellow View<\/em> star Whoopi Goldberg<\/a>, whom she said she still texts regularly and has a deep love for.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s not possible with someone like Rosie O\u2019Donnell, who time and time again wants to spread lies and hate,\u201d Hasselbeck said, per EW<\/em>, claiming that she\u2019s \u201ctried to call\u201d O\u2019Donnell in the past to discuss their feud that ultimately led to the comedian exiting The View<\/em> in 2007.<\/p>\n The argument erupted after Hasselbeck went on Fox News and was asked about O\u2019Donnell \u201cimplying that American troops were terrorists as a result of Iraqi deaths in the Iraq War,\u201d as Hasselbeck put it. \u201cI did not defend her comments there,\u201d Hasselbeck said, noting how the next day at The View<\/em>, O\u2019Donnell \u201cmade my entire morning miserable, fit-throwing, and then we got to the set and she went off.\u201d<\/p>\n Hasselbeck, who was \u201cvery pregnant\u201d at the time, said that O\u2019Donnell \u201clost it and threw me into early contractions,\u201d and claimed that \u201cABC made me call [O\u2019Donnell] and apologize.\u201d<\/p>\n In a later post, Hasselbeck said she is willing to talk about the issue with O\u2019Donnell face-to-face. \u201cIf you want to get together and talk, let\u2019s do it, come over and swim in my pool, come take a couple laps, come back to America and enjoy your nation. We can have open free dialogues about what we disagree on. I\u2019ll make you dinner. What do you want to stop the bullying?\u201d<\/p>\n She continued, \u201cIn the meantime, and even maybe if you don\u2019t stop, I still forgive you and it can just be so much more free, Rosie, if you can just stop.
