BVYCX\"><strong class=\"_1ATDh\">Prince William met with Rhian Mannings whose husband took his own life days after the death of their one-year-old son, ITV News&#8217; Tori Watson reports. <\/strong><\/p>\n<hr\/>\n<p class=\"A8Lwr BVYCX\">The<a target=\"_blank\" class=\"qNUzV q7LZa\" data-testid=\"next-link-anchor\" href=\"https:\/\/www.itv.com\/news\/topic\/prince-william\"><span class=\"n6NlI\"> Prince of Wales <\/span><\/a>fought back tears as he discussed the impact of suicide on loved ones and the importance of providing support to those at risk, in a new film to mark World Mental Health Day.<\/p>\n<p class=\"A8Lwr BVYCX\">The future King appeared visibly moved during a conversation with Rhian Mannings, 48, whose one-year-old son George died suddenly in 2012. Five days later, her husband Paul took his own life.<\/p>\n<p class=\"A8Lwr BVYCX\">Prince William first met Rhian in 2017, and earlier this month, he travelled to her home in <a target=\"_blank\" class=\"qNUzV q7LZa\" data-testid=\"next-link-anchor\" href=\"https:\/\/www.itv.com\/news\/topic\/cardiff\"><span class=\"n6NlI\">Cardiff<\/span><\/a>, where they had a moving conversation about the impact of suicide.<\/p>\n<p class=\"A8Lwr BVYCX\">He also met Rhian\u2019s mother, Chris Jones, and children \u2013 Isaac, 16, and Holly, 17.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"A8Lwr mes-O\"><figcaption class=\"Ya3u6 SilLI\" data-testid=\"captioned-picture-caption\">The Prince of Wales with Rhian Mannings and family.<span class=\"mjYl8\"> Credit: <!-- -->Kensington Palace<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p class=\"A8Lwr BVYCX\">At the beginning of the film, Rhian explains: \u201cIt\u2019s really difficult to explain how grief feels. Emptiness, physical pain, your head hurts, your limbs hurt, you ache.<\/p>\n<p class=\"A8Lwr BVYCX\">\u201cBut when you lose somebody to suicide, it leaves so many questions unanswered.<\/p>\n<p class=\"A8Lwr BVYCX\">\u201cBut I\u2019m hoping by having increased awareness around what it is, but also the effects it has on those left behind. What causes people to walk out and never come home.<\/p>\n<p class=\"A8Lwr BVYCX\">\u201cLet\u2019s stand together, let\u2019s talk about it.
