(WSYR-TV) \u2014 Over a three-day weekend, filmmakers, cinephiles, aspiring students, and industry insiders both high-tier and local are convening at a humble, 400-seat theater in Cazenovia.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">For its 22nd year, <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/syracusefilmfest.com\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:the Syracuse International Film Festival;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">the Syracuse International Film Festival<\/a> is moving to the Catherine Cummings Theater in Cazenovia for its annual festival from Oct. 17-19.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">At its Oct. 19 award ceremony, the is bestowing two special accolades: the Lumen Award to Tom Seeley and the Sophia Award to Stephen Baldwin.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Seeley was a screenwriting professor at Syracuse University and now teaches part-time at Ithaca College. He wrote and produced for several network TV shows, including \u201cCheers,\u201d \u201cMurphy Brown\u201d (which won him an Emmy), and \u201cHannah Montana.\u201d In 2012, he began working in Moscow to supervise the Russian version of \u201cEverybody Loves Raymond,\u201d \u201c\u0412\u043e\u0440\u043e\u043d\u0438\u043d\u044b\u201d (\u201cThe Voronins\u201d).<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Baldwin, an actor and director, is the youngest of the Baldwin Brothers. He appeared in the <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20070103153105\/http:\/\/theenvelope.latimes.com\/extras\/lostmind\/year\/1996\/1996st.htm\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:award-winning film;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">award-winning film <\/a>\u201cBio-Dome\u201d and <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20070105221207\/http:\/\/theenvelope.latimes.com\/extras\/lostmind\/year\/2000\/2000st.htm\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:won;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">won <\/a><a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/bureau42.com\/view\/166\/2001-razzies-awarded\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:nominations;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">nominations<\/a> for \u201cThe Flintstones in Viva Rock Vegas,\u201d as well as competing in \u201cThe Celebrity Apprentice\u201d and directing the Christian skateboarding film \u201cLivin\u2019 It.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">As a sort of prologue to the main events, the Manlius Library is hosting a free screening one of the ceremony\u2019s honorable mentions, <strong>\u201cTiananmen Tonight,\u201d<\/strong> at 6 p.m. on Oct. 16, the day before the festival begins.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The Palace Theatre in Syracuse is also hosting a smaller, auxiliary festival on Oct. 18, at 6 p.m., featuring screenings across three blocks of:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"mb-4\">\n<li class=\"ml-4 list-disc\">\n<div class=\"\">\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Block 1: <strong>\u201cEl Jacho\u201d<\/strong> 22 minutes.
