David Del Rio<\/strong> continues to have the support of his wife, Katherine Del Rio<\/span><\/a><\/strong>, after being fired<\/span><\/a> from Matlock<\/i>.<\/p>\n

\u201cHis wife is standing by him,\u201d friends of the couple exclusively shared with Us Weekly<\/em>. \u201cThey\u2019re a family and staying together.\u201d<\/p>\n

Together for 12 years, David, 38, and Katherine share two daughters, including Lilia, 2, and Coco, 8 months.<\/p>\n

\u201cDooty calls,\u201d the actor wrote via Instagram<\/span><\/a> on September 2, when holding his daughter as she sported a onesie with a \u201ctwo months\u201d button. (Katherine previously confirmed via Instagram<\/span><\/a> that baby Coco arrived in January.)<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tMatlock actor David Del Rio and his wife, Katherine Del Rio, have been together for 12 years. \u201cFrom when you said \u2018yes\u2019 to be my girlfriend 12 years ago\u2026 the ride continues,\u201d David wrote via Instagram in July 2025, sharing a tribute to Katherine. \u201cI love you, Flower Child.\u201d David and Katherine first crossed paths [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The couple\u2019s love story first began when Katherine saw David performing in the Broadway production of In the Heights<\/i>.<\/p>\n

\u201cAt the end, we were waiting for everyone\u2019s autographs, and my dad said to me, \u2018Hey, do you want me to get a picture of you with the guy who played Sonny?’\u201d Katherine recalled to Inside Edition<\/i><\/span><\/a> in March 2017, before admitting that she had a \u201clittle crush\u201d on him.<\/p>\n

The pair reconnected three years later at a party for a mutual friend and began dating shortly after.<\/p>\n

Love stories aside, David found himself making headlines for his professional life on Thursday, October 9, when Us<\/i> confirmed the actor was no longer part of the Matlock<\/i> cast following an investigation into allegations of sexual assault.<\/p>\n

The father of two abruptly exited the show after allegedly being involved in a September incident with costar Leah Lewis<\/strong>, Deadline<\/span><\/a> reported. (Us<\/i> previously reached out to David\u2019s rep and CBS for comment.)<\/p>\n

According to the outlet, CBS was alerted to the incident and began an internal investigation immediately. Soon after, David was \u201cfired and escorted off the lot the same day the alleged assault was reported [on October 2].\u201d<\/p>\n

Although Matlock<\/i> was on hiatus from filming when news broke, production is expected to resume on the second half of season 2 after Thanksgiving in November. David\u2019s character is expected to be written off, per Deadline.<\/p>\n

While David has yet to address the scandal, his wife posted a close-up photo<\/span><\/a> of Lewis, 28, via her Instagram Stories the same day news broke that David was fired. Across her face, Katherine wrote, \u201cThis is the most disturbing human being I have ever met.\u201d (She deleted the post hours later.)<\/p>\n

During the April 2025 finale of the hit CBS series, Olympia (Skye P. Marshall) realized that her ex-husband, Julian (Jason Ritter), was responsible for hiding the [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

As for Lewis, she broke her silence on the whole situation by sharing a photo with her mother from set.<\/p>\n

I\u2019m in good hands,\u201d she wrote<\/span><\/a> via her Instagram Story on Thursday.\u00a0 \u201cThank you to everybody for any kind of support and care. Prior to the scandal, David and Lewis \u2014 who both played first-year associates at Jacobson Moore law firm on the CBS series \u2014 spoke highly about one another.<\/p>\n

\u201cDavid Del Rio, who plays Billy, who plays kind of, like, my counterpart, I\u2019ve learned so much about comedy from him,\u201d Lewis exclusively told Us<\/i><\/span><\/a> in September 2024. \u201cHe comes from a theater background, so it\u2019s like we\u2019re always dancing and twinkling around set.\u201d<\/p>\n

In a 2024 interview with Hello!<\/i><\/span><\/a>, David recalled the moment he was asked to come in to read \u201cfor different Sarah\u2019s and Leah Lewis got the role.\u201d<\/p>\n
