Iconic rock wife Pattie Boyd<\/strong>, known for her marriage to Beatles<\/strong> guitarist George Harrison<\/strong> and later Eric Clapton<\/strong>, spoke out about the actress who will be playing her in the upcoming set of biopics about the British band, The White Lotus <\/em>star Aimee Lou Wood<\/strong>.<\/p>\n \u201cBig news, indeed! I’m looking forward (hoping) to meet Aimee Lou at some point in the future,\u201d the 81-year-old It girl wrote via Twitter<\/a> in response to the news of Wood\u2019s casting.<\/p>\n Wood, 31, is one of four women cast as significant girlfriends and wives of Harrison, John Lennon<\/strong>, Paul McCartney<\/strong>, and Ringo Starr<\/strong>. Wood\u2019s casting is pretty on the nose great, but so are the other choices. Saoirse Ronan<\/strong> will play McCartney\u2019s wife Linda McCartney<\/strong>, Shogun<\/em> star Anna Sawai<\/strong> will play Yoko Ono<\/strong>, and How To Have Sex <\/em>breakout star Mia McKenna-Bruce<\/strong> will play Starr\u2019s wife Maureen Starkey<\/strong>.<\/p>\n As for the Beatles themselves, it was previously announced that Harris Dickinson<\/strong> would play Lennon, Barry Keoghan<\/strong> would play Starr, Joseph Quinn <\/strong>would play Harrison, and Paul Mescal<\/strong> would play McCartney. But so far, those are all the casting announcements that have been made for director Sam Mendes<\/strong>\u2019 set of four films. There\u2019s bound to be a lot more coming, as Beatles mainstays like late manager Brian Epstein<\/strong>, road manager Mal Evans<\/strong>, and assistant Neil Aspinall<\/strong> will most likely make appearances in the film.<\/p>\n When it comes to what the films will cover, we don\u2019t have much information there just yet. It\u2019s said that each film will have a focus on one particular Beatle, but as far as exactly what major events will be featured in the films, it\u2019s anyone\u2019s guess. That said, it is confirmed<\/a> that celebrated playwright Jez Butterworth<\/strong>, Conclave<\/em> writer Peter Straughan<\/strong>, and Adolescence <\/em>writer Jack Thorne<\/strong> will pen the scripts.<\/p>\n Similarly, we don\u2019t know just yet which songs will be used in the movie, but the films do have the approval of the Beatles\u2019 music label Apple Corps, which maintains the rights to their catalog, for both the full life story rights and music rights. This is fairly different from many smaller music biopics, particularly the 2009 Lennon biopic Nowhere Boy<\/em>, which opted not to use the band\u2019s tracks because of the expense. Mendes\u2019 films have access to the full catalog, but it remains to be seen which songs they use.<\/p>\n Lennon and Harrison are unfortunately no longer alive to see how they would be portrayed on screen, but McCartney, 83, and Starr, 85, are<\/em> still here \u2014 and Starr took it upon himself to speak for the group about how they feel about the movies.<\/p>\n \u201cWe all support the Sam Mendes movie project. Yes, indeed,\u201d he previously wrote on social media when the movies were first announced.
