Actor David Del Rio\u2019s wife is breaking her silence on his sexual assault allegation.<\/p>\n

News broke on Thursday, Oct. 9, that Del Rio was fired<\/a> from the CBS legal drama \u201cMatlock\u201d after his costar Leah Lewis accused him of sexual assault. That same day, Del Rio\u2019s wife, Katherine, took to social media to slam Lewis.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is the most disturbing human being I have ever met,\u201d Katherine wrote via her Instagram Story alongside a closeup photo of Lewis\u2019 face.<\/p>\n

Del Rio played Billy Martinez on \u201cMatlock,\u201d while Lewis plays Sarah Franklin. After Lewis accused Del Rio of sexual assault, an internal investigation was immediately conducted. Del Rio was then escorted off set. <\/p>\n

Lewis posted to her Instagram Story the same day Del Rio\u2019s firing made headlines. <\/p>\n

\u201cMom is here, we\u2019re moving forward in love and strength. I\u2019m in good hands,\u201d she captioned a photo of her and her mother. \u201cThank you to everybody for any kind of support and care. Truly, we\u2019re moving forward in strength. Key word, strength. Please, let that be the takeaway.\u201d<\/p>\n

Del Rio has yet to address the allegations. He and Katherine share two daughters. <\/p>\n

Season 2 of \u201cMatlock\u201d is set to premiere on Sunday, Oct. 12. Del Rio will appear in only some of the season, as production is ongoing. Filming continued after Del Rio\u2019s firing, but the show is heading into a planned hiatus next week. Production will resume after Thanksgiving. Del Rio will be written out of future episodes. <\/p>\n

CBS declined to comment. <\/p>\n

In addition to Del Rio and Lewis, \u201cMatlock\u201d stars Kathy Bates (Madeline Matlock\/Madeline Kingston), Skye P. Marshall (Olympia Lawrence), and Jason Ritter (Julian Markston).<\/p>\n

Bates\u2019 Matlock is a retired lawyer who goes back to practicing law under an alias to prove that a firm hid evidence that could\u2019ve saved her daughter\u2019s life. The CBS drama draws inspiration from the original TV series of the same name, which starred Andy Griffith in the titular role. <\/p>\n

Season 2 of \u201cMatlock\u201d premieres on CBS and <\/b><\/i>Paramount+<\/b><\/i><\/a> on Sunday, Oct. 12, at 8:30 p.m. ET.<\/b><\/i><\/p>\n
