Seven months after Carl Dean tragically passed away<\/a>, Dolly Parton was named the sole beneficiary of her husband\u2019s estate.<\/p>\n

Dean, who died<\/a> on March 3, 2025, at age 82, left a will signed in 2013 that was never updated.<\/p>\n

The will names Parton, 79, as the trustee of the Carl Thomas Dean Trust and requested that she also be appointed as the executor, following a recent health scare<\/a>.<\/p>\n

This means she will inherit the entirety of his estate. Under the terms of the will, she will receive all rights to Dean\u2019s personal effects and belongings.<\/p>\n

According to US Weekly<\/a>, the filing stated that Dean did not own any real property in Tennessee but did own personal property and cash. Parton also said her late husband was not an owner nor had any controlling interest in an ongoing business or economic enterprise that would be part of the estate.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

“He will be laid to rest in a private ceremony with immediate family attending. He is survived by his siblings Sandra and Donnie. Carl and I spent many wonderful years together.”<\/p>\n

“Words can\u2019t do justice to the love we shared for over 60 years. Thank you for your prayers and sympathy. The family asks for privacy during this difficult time.”<\/p>\n

Dean met Parton in 1964, the day she arrived in Nashville. They married in 1966 in Ringgold, Georgia.<\/p>\n

The couple renewed their vows in 2016 to mark their 50th wedding anniversary.<\/p>\n

“We\u2019re going to get married again,” Parton told PEOPLE<\/a> at the time.<\/p>\n

“I\u2019ll have a beautiful wedding dress, ’cause I didn\u2019t have a big, long wedding dress when we got married, and we\u2019ve got a suit for him, so we\u2019re going to dress up and take a bunch of pictures.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
