Billy Idol is saying goodbye to his longtime friend and one of rock and roll\u2019s most respected drummers, Thommy Price.<\/p>\n

The sad news was announced by the musician\u2019s wife Stefunny Price on October 10 via Facebook<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In a lengthy statement, the iconic drummer, who died at the age of 68, was surrounded by family.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is with great sadness that we share the passing of beloved husband, friend, and legendary musician Thommy Price,\u201d the post reads, adding \u201cA devoted husband and proud father and powerhouse drummer and songwriter, Thommy\u2019s extraordinary career spanned decades, performing and recording with some of rock\u2019s most iconic artists. His energy, kindness, humor, and unmatched rhythm left an indelible mark on everyone who knew him and every stage he graced.\u201d<\/p>\n

Thommy Price\u2019s passing will be deeply felt by those close to him, including his wife, beloved daughter Brooklyn, and \u201ca big, beautiful Italian family, friends, and countless fans around the world.\u201d<\/p>\n

One of those who will miss him deeply is the iconic rocker who performed alongside him as his drummer.<\/p>\n

In a post on Instagram, Billy Idol shared a heartfelt tribute honoring Thommy Price for his remarkable contribution to the music industry.<\/p>\n

Alongside a throwback photo, he penned a touching message not only to his late friend but also to his family.<\/p>\n

\u201cVery sad to hear of Thommy Price\u2019s passing yesterday. My condolences to his wife Stefunny, his daughter Brooklyn and the many friends, family and collaborators that knew and loved him,\u201d he wrote.<\/p>\n

The \u201cEyes Without a Face\u201d singer remembered the legendary drummer as a \u201cfantastic musician\u201d whose high-energy drumming helped define the sound of one of his most iconic \u201980s albums.<\/p>\n

\u201cThommy was a fantastic musician and drummer who, in 1983, came in at the last minute and put his definitive stamp on my Rebel Yell<\/em> album. He helped us to bring it to an incredible finish and toured with us on the Rebel Yell and Whiplash Smile tours. He also spent many years playing with Joan Jett & The Blackhearts,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

As he bid his final farewell to his friend, he expressed how deeply he would miss the musician who brought so much heart to his life and music.<\/p>\n

\u201cThommy was a friend as well as musical compatriot who brought immense talent and heart to everything he did. And I will miss him. Rock On, Thommy. Love, Billy,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
